Outrage open thread.

I'm tired. Your turn. What's the stupidest thing you read today?

Truly, you are a mind reader, sir. I just commented at neo's, in this thread where he moans about being nominated as craziest blogger. Since I know he'll delete me once he gets off the can, I thought I'd copy the comment here. It contains a link to another of today's threads there, and I think it will get honourable mention, if not win.

====== neo December 21
They just don't learn eh?
Evidence of brain damage?
They ever hear of slander
You can't slander a pseudonym, fool.

leave it to the freakshow on the left to make fun of people suffering from mental health issues.
So it's ok to call people freaks but not crazy? If you say so, "Rose".

Sure, we could sit here all week, .
And you will, Patrick, won't you. Your sock puppets and neo's sock puppets could have a grand old time.

"smoking dope makes you smarter".
Funny how your sock puppets were talking about slander for calling someone crazy which is not slander, it is an insult. While insinuating someone is a criminal is slander, or in this case, libel.

So all those stoners who appeared really stupid in high school become even dumber as adults. Maybe that's why they are angry all the time?
No, it is your own rage that you are projecting on to others. Especially when they mock your hero. Especially when you didn't get nominated, probably because they know you're just a sock puppet.

Meanwhile, the compassionate conservatives here have all the answers for those meanies who called you names and made you cry.

Neo actually complains about people who make fun of others? That's precious, since he's the idiot who mocked the entire community of Woodstock when they held a candlelight vigil for Tori Stafford.

Yes, Neo, you go ahead and lecture us on mean-spirited classlessness. We are so ready to be judged.

Everything I read was stupid, but check out some of the comments under this article.

Wingnuts: Experts in kerning history, climatology science, population studies and constitutional law.

I did read something smart yesterday, though: this article on Ignatieff.

Not much as far as stupid, but very high on the outrage.

I also used to live in Irvine, but thankful I'm back in Canada.

Some humourless twat thought I was being racist with this comment on an entry about sue-a-holics:

I was in a hotel recently, swimming in the pool. I was the only person there. Then a man came down to use the weight room. He kept looking out at the pool from his vantage point of the weight room. Then I started noticing signs, “Security cameras do not monitor the pool area” and “Swim at your own risk”. At the same time, I didn’t want to give the man, who was vaguely Arabic-looking with one eyebrow that made him look even more menacing than your average vaguely Arabic-looking man looks when you’re a female infidel whore swimming unaccompanied in a hotel pool and Prince Mohammed Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed is staring out the weight room window at you thinking how easy it would be for him to rape, strangle and drown you then skip back to his Saudi Arabian palace before anyone else had the idea to venture down to the deserted pool area for a lonely murder-inviting swim (that he appeared to be working out for the first time in his life starting with the one pound weights to avoid injury is neither here nor there) - a complex. Not wanting to appear politically incorrect, either, I forced myself to do three more laps around the pool before, calmly, exiting (trying not to look even remotely sexy so as not to give the “I’m asking for it” message women are so famous for giving to parking lot/swimming pool rapists – by putting as much “butch dyke, former nut kick-boxing champion of Northern Ontario” into my gait as possible) gathering my things, and heading over to the elevator, a chorus of “don’t look back, keep it steady, WHY DIDN’T I WEAR MY GLASSES?! I’M SUCH AN IDIOT! WHERE’S THE FUCKING ELEVATOR?!” playing through my head.

Now, as I said, the hotel had all kinds of signs warning me not to swim alone in the enticing and pleasantly empty of hockey tournament brats pool, but if I’d fainted and drowned because I knew no one was monitoring the pool and I started to hyper-ventilate because my political correctness was jamming up against my safety first instincts (and the likelihood of being raped and murdered by a swarthy foreigner who could easily get away with the deed) and my children were left motherless and their spendthrift dad inherited all my money because I hadn’t yet changed my Will to leave it all in trust or specify that it had to be used for educational purposes – could they sue my boyfriend for refusing to get involved and get me to a lawyer even though I’d said many times to him that I really should do something to update my Will – which should have caused him to ask if I even had a Will so that he would have known my answer was “No, of course not! You know I suffer from FOLD (Fear of Legal Documents) syndrome. Gawd. What kind of boyfriend are you? Do you CARE ABOUT ME AT ALL?!”

OR – could they go after the legal system itself for being so fucking complicated and adversarial that people like me get raped and murdered in abandoned hotel swimming pools without even leaving a proper Will behind to soften the blow. If it even would be a blow, now that I really stop and think about it. Deceptive little brats. It’s so hard to see inside their heads to know what they’re REALLY thinking, isn’t it.

I haven't read anything today but CC, so no stupid, which is fine with me since I'm still fuming about the ignorant, evil, fascist fucktardary you pointed out here

sooey said...

Ti-Guy thinks Levant is crazier'n Kinsella. I say no way. Kinsella is crazier. And his blog is totally gay.

Rev.Paperboy said...

Aw c'mon Sooey, Warren is a bit wacky and self-important, but Ezra is the bull-goose looney of the high-profile rightwingnutosphere. He honestly seems to think human rights commissions are some sort of fascist death panels or something because they won't let him exhort the mob to kill brown people or anyone else he doesn't like.

On Desmogblog, this entire thread is just chock full of denialist gone crazy. I can't keep up, and I know my material.

They post lie after lie after lie, and you have to know tomorrow, it'll be rinse, wash repeat.

A comment on G&M ranted about how Obama was illegally elected by ACORN and union activist fraud, and about how New York, Chicago, and Toronto are hubs of communist evil on the North American continent because they are the HQ of Big Media, Obama's machine, or the Liberal Party. They are working to enslave us and sell us to the Communist Maoist Chinese.

Ti-Guy said...

Sooey's just being crabby. Someone (not me) called her a racist for her racist screed up there.

Warren's a bit crazy, but not nearly as certifiable as Levant. And she knows it.

You're clearly misidentifying the source of the stench...

A little cornstarch under the man-boobs and the "nappe", will do wonders to control wetness and odour, laddie.

You know what's funny?

I mean really really funny.

Watching Patrick (who refuses to make his actually actionable comments on his own blog where they can't be deleted) call someone a coward.

CC said...

Oops, I accidentally pressed the Delete key. Four times. My bad.

Jesus, what is it about Patrick Ross that makes him think I'd waste my time on a 30-year-old sociology undergrad with a blog readership of three? If he's so hyped to prove what a manly stud he is to Maria "Dodo" Nunes, he can find a biker bar in Edmonton and walk into it wearing a t-shirt that reads, "Harley riders are fags." Then we'll talk.

sooey said...

Screed? It's a true story. Gawd. Speaking of craziest commenter.

Ti-Guy said...

It's a true story.

Oh, alright. I'll nominate you over at Unrepentant Old Hippie for "The Crazy of the Year." But really, you're just a poseur.

The ramblings of this "Christian of convenience" are the stupidest thing I've read today.

CC said...

You are, of course, correct, Cameron -- Twatsy sputters and blusters, but he very, very, very carefully won't make an explicit public accusation against me at his own blog.

There's always some careful qualification -- that I encouraged some kind of behaviour, or perhaps I condoned it, or maybe I vaguely in some ill-defined way initiated a plan or scheme to eventually do something, but there's always a sudden pulling up short without getting to a clear, precise and explicit accusation. Patrick's very careful that way.

And, yes, Cameron -- he is a gutless coward. Nothing stops him from posting whatever he wants on his own blog. But it's never going to happen. Because he's a coward and he knows what would happen.

Oakville, if you're not lying on your profile.

You don't get satire, do you? There was a link to something about Al Franken on the "challenge" post here.

On the other hand, PR is a lair who sock puppets, and he is a coward who won't put his libel on his own blog where the feeds will ensure he can't delete it and spread it far enough to be actionable. That's really what's going on here, you bonehead. Are you happy that PR has reduced you to schoolyard taunts and sniggering? Looks good on you.
