Uh oh ...

This can't possibly end well.

Oh, I dunno. Maybe the NP has read the writing and realized that being a hard right rag is no way to make a profit, and is starting to seed the place for a move to centre-right where they can make a few bucks.

What makes them think publishing Dr. Dawg will make them any profit? If I want to know what Dawg thinks, I'll go read his blog. I only hope he's getting paid for this but -- no offense, Dawg -- I still wouldn't pay real money for that worthless rag.

By the way, I wonder why they didn't let him comment under a pseudonym. They have a history of that sort of thing, as I recall.

After the Raphael lawsuit, his writing activities for Q4 are actually turning a profit, unlike the NP. So I would surmise that they've brought him in as a turnaround artist. They are hoping he is the Lee Iaccoca of print!

Considering the above, his profitability would be diminished if he used a pseudonym. You can't libel a pseudonym. Even when the real person behind the name is known, it is much less ambiguous if a real name is libeled, and the potential settlement could be larger.

Hahahaha! The first thing the editor said to me was that they had a "no pseudonyms" policy, and would that dampen my enthusiasm?

I think they learned something from he who shall remain nameless.

Incidentally, NP will only be picking up blogposts. You really don't have to venture there unless you're curious about the industrial-strength trollery. Something to behold.

Dr. Dawg, best of luck over there but I hope you've got an industrial strength flea collar.
