Oh for fuck's sake ...

Dear Mayor O’Brien, OC Transpo and ATU Local 279:

Now what?

Yours in endless disgust,
LuLu

Well, I've not heard any plans from the union yet, but the (your?) mayor was mouthing off this morning on CBC about "Any legal means to end the strike." So I'm thinking that sitting down and talking about the shift schedule program is probably out of the question.

I've become a union supporter over the years I've been in a union shop. I hope that this union doesn't have any rights stripped because it is OUR rights that are getting stipped.

That said, I'd love to see both parties locked up in a conference room some kind of forced mediation scheme...The grandstanding of small minded people on both sides in the media is laughable.

I'm off to the noon rally.

Anyone with the slightest knowledge of labour relations could have predicted the outcome of that stupid forced vote. I figured between 60-70%, so I was pretty close.

We have to get the parties to the table. The imposed vote meant a lot of wasted days--thanks, Larrykins--and everybody wants an end to this.

Randall Denley wasn't at his best yesterday, fussing about outstanding salary demands. He knows damned well, and in fact I told him so, that if the shift-scheduling issue were resolved, the drivers would be back in a heartbeat.

Left unsaid, which I'm sure was just an early morning oversight... but do they all still suck monkey butt?

Rest assured, the city council is on it.

I heard that they had scheduled an emergency meeting - yes that's right, an emergency meeting - next week.

I can't wait to see what comes from it. I'm not a gambling man, but I'm putting $1000 on 'nothing'.

Union to City: Fuck you

City to Union: No, fuck you

City and Union to the public: You call can just fuck yourselves

Looks like you got your wish to some degree. Now the feds are involved, that changes the playing field a bit, it seems.
