There's everyday stupid ...

And then there’s gun-fetishist, Ass Monkey Neo stupid.

Hey Steffi...

The primary purpose of any military force is to break stuff and kill people... what part of that... do you not understand?

-- OTTAWA -- Canada's Afghanistan mission must dramatically scale back troop size and shift to training and other non-aggressive roles if it's to win Liberal support for an extension, says Leader Stephane Dion.

And he's not alone.

Break stuff and kill people? Is that really the argument you want to go with? Ooooooh-kay. Maybe it's just me but that sounds an awful lot like oh, I don't know, a fucking military dictatorship, you retard.

Christ Jesus. For Christmas, I hope Santa brings the Ass Monkey something new to clutch his pearls over because he's too fucking stupid to come up with anything else.

Anyway, when CC's not pissing all over the mother of a dead Canadian soldier... he's got way more important stuff to talk about.

CC, can't you do something else to piss him off? It could be my Christmas present ...

I think Neo is confusing the military with a ninja. But I guess that's to be expected.

Did you notice a few days ago when Bush referred to our soldiers (and those of certain other NATO countries and allies)as "shooters"? That said a lot, I thought.

What, pray tell, do you think the guns, grenades, and tanks are for?

To defend the innocent?

Well, according to Title 10 of the United States Code which outlines the role of armed forces:

(a) It is the intent of Congress to provide an Army that is capable, in conjunction with the other armed forces, of—
(1) preserving the peace and security, and providing for the defense, of the United States, the Commonwealths and possessions, and any areas occupied by the United States;
(2) supporting the national policies;
(3) implementing the national objectives; and
(4) overcoming any nations responsible for aggressive acts that imperil the peace and security of the United States.

(b) In general, the Army, within the Department of the Army, includes land combat and service forces and such aviation and water transport as may be organic therein. It shall be organized, trained, and equipped primarily for prompt and sustained combat incident to operations on land. It is responsible for the preparation of land forces necessary for the effective prosecution of war except as otherwise assigned and, in accordance with integrated joint mobilization plans, for the expansion of the peacetime components of the Army to meet the needs of war.

(c) The Army consists of—
(1) the Regular Army, the Army National Guard of the United States, the Army National Guard while in the service of the United States and the Army Reserve; and
(2) all persons appointed or enlisted in, or conscripted into, the Army without component.

(d) The organized peace establishment of the Army consists of all—
(1) military organizations of the Army with their installations and supporting and auxiliary elements, including combat, training, administrative, and logistic elements; and
(2) members of the Army, including those not assigned to units;
necessary to form the basis for a complete and immediate mobilization for the national defense in the event of a national emergency.

Nothing about the imperative to break stuff and kill people there.

This has been today's edition of intelligent answers to stupid questions.

"This has been today's edition of intelligent answers to stupid questions."

I'd be careful calling yourself or your answers "intelligent", tootsie, when all you are doing is quoting a document you seem unable to understand, given your obvious inability to deal with euphemisms. The phrase "(t)he primary purpose of any military force is to break stuff and kill people" is just a coarser way of saying "trained, and equipped primarily for prompt and sustained combat" or "the effective prosecution of war",or perhaps "overcoming any nations responsible for aggressive acts that imperil the peace and security of the United States".

I strongly suggest you borrow a dictionary and look up the definitions of "combat", "war", and maybe even "defense". While you're at it, look up "euphemism", too.

Some might argue that "break stuff and kill people" is just a wee bit wider in scope than "overcoming any nations responsible for aggressive acts that imperil the peace and security of the United States." I mean, the former lies within my personal capabilities, the latter probably not. In fact, some might argue that the goal of breaking stuff and killing people could be achieved much more cheaply by abolishing the military entirely, handing out free alcohol at athletic events, and rigging every match against the home team.

After you're finished with that borrowed dictionary, tootsie, you might want to lend it to Groovy so it can look up "coarser".
