It's not polite to kick a man when he's down, which is exactly why we're doing it here. While "Strong Conservative" Jonathan is fumbling to recover from progressive foot-in-mouth disease as you can read in earlier posts here, he still has time to embarrass his species even further, as you can read here, where Jonathan uncritically reproduces the latest GOP smear point:
"Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid collected a $1.1 million windfall on a Las Vegas land sale even though he hadn't personally owned the property for three years, property deeds show..."
Which sure sounds serious, except for the fact that that story is pure horseshit as you're welcome to read here. And note that this isn't the first hit-piece on Reid from AP hack John Solomon, who seems to be making an entire career out of smearing Reid. But poor Jonathan finally loses touch with reality entirely in a Reid-related followup:
Reid should resign. Foley did, Harry should follow his example.
Make sure you understand what just happened here. Jonathan is, in all seriousness, equating a relatively minor real estate transaction -- for which even Solomon doesn't provide any evidence of actual wrongdoing -- to long-time, online sexual solicitation of minors by a 50-year-old Republican congressman who may have made actual visits to the page dorm. Yeah, I can see how those two things are entirely equivalent.
I can also see why I just decided to ban Jonathan from this blog. If I need hopelessly gullible neo-con talking points, I can just pop over to Matt Drudge. Or Steve Janke. If I'm truly interested in reading pig-ignorant, right-wing swill, I might as well get it from the best, and not have to hear it from insignificant, sixth-tier hacks like Jonathan.
Bye, Jonathan. Have fun on your blog. And, by all means, don't forget to not write.
