It’s all connected.

Shorter Robert Peters, President of Morality in Media: Hmmmmm. Teh Gheyz are allowed to marry legally in Iowa. Crazy guy goes on a killing spree in Binghamton, New York.

Coincidence? I think not.

Like wow. Just ... wow.

"... the decline of morality (and the faith that so often under girds it) that is the underlying cause of our modern day epidemic of mass murders ..."

There you go. It's all about the girdles. When women stopped wearing them, hell broke loose.

Why not? Intellectual heavyweights like Glenn Beck are "informing" their (tellingly) large flocks that opposition to racism, sexism, and other bigotry is driving ordinary people to go on shooting sprees.

I get a kick out of fundies equating faith with morality, as though acting out of fear and eternal-self-interest on the whims of a being that has demanded blood sacrifices, killing of children, torture, rape, genocide, misogyny and other atrocities is somehow not only "moral" but something we as a society should aspire to return to.
