And if your reasoning is that the surplus will be donated to ... whoever, well, OK, but that still doesn't justify continuing to rake in the bucks once you know you can't possibly spend it all on your advertised cause.
If GoFundMe was being responsible, they'd simply de-activate the fundraiser right now, while working out whether or not to return all that dosh.

It's equally suspicious considering the money is supposed to only be going to truckers for fuel costs, and they have stated if you drive your personal vehicle as part of the convoy, you won't be reimbursed. Yet every photo I've seen in the media hyping up this convoy, has shown very few actual shipping trucks and mostly just pickups. Which makes it really negligent on the part of the media who are all running stories about this massive convoy and how it's responsible for all the empty shelves (which have been showing up weeks ago already in my city).
Anon: All of the MSM (and especially the CBC) have been absolutely incompetent in their coverage of this idiocy.
I've never been more disappointed in the CBC. Even our noon hour radio call in show yesterday (BC) gave these morons coverage.

Are you saying the CBC should not cover this event?
Rabbit, the CBC and all other media outlets should be covering this so-called event by pointing out that virtually everything its spokespeople and supporters have said about it is absolute bullshit and that the whole thing is a massive swindle.
Rabbit, the CBC and ALL mainstream media in Canada should be covering this event factually and honestly. Instead, what they are doing is blindly and uncritically parroting the claims of the organizers without even the slightest fact checking. One can only assume they don’t want to face check because they would enrage the right further because they’d have to point out all the lies and misinformation this rally is founded in. So instead of factually covering it, they are basically just promoting them and their misinfo. Ive literally seen national papers (as well as some province’s premiers) that these thousands of truckers are going to cause all kinds of supply chain problems because of rush protest…yet photographic evidence - including those in the promotional media coverage - show very few actual shopping trucks and the vast majority are personal vehicle. And again, personal vehicles don’t qualify for the money this event is fundraising. So where is all the money going?
