Let me put this in simple terms that even Steve Janke could understand.

Shorter Stephen Harper: "Having classified everything we possibly could regarding Afghanistan detainess and torture in order to prevent Richard Colvin from being able to produce any supporting documentation for his claims, we can now dismiss Richard Colvin as having no supporting documentation for his claims."

That's too verbose....
We are talking to people who have the metacognition of pea soup...

This proves that the Canadian Forces, or at least Canada's New Government, are moving into the Bif Leagues.

You got to understand, you don't classify information to keep the commies or the terrorists from finding out about things. (Ivan doesn't need G-2 to figure out the significance of "incoming." Besides, Ivan has the support of KGB, or whatever they call it these days. "Classifying" information doesn't do any good where KGB is concerned.)

Remember how the British conquered their Empire in "a fit of absence of mind?" That's why you need "classified information." If the British public had had a clue what this cost, or what the warrior class did to bring Christ to the heathen, there would have been grief in Mudville, or Westminster, or the Hill, or whatever it is they call the place the British Bigwigs parlay. So also, there would be grief among unReal Canadians if word of this stuff leaks out. You have to think of this as Canada's New Government protecting Real Canadians from unReal Canadians. Which, given the statistical threat to Canada's New Government, is more important that "terrorists" or whatever they call the existential threat these days. You Betcha. Also, too.
