Via Blogging Tory, nasty racist and poster boy for Obama Derangement Syndrome Paul E. Marek, we find the following delightful bit of wicked wit courtesy of Stephen harper:
In France , at a fairly large conference, Prime Minister Steven Harper was asked by a French cabinet minister if Canadian involvement in Afghanistan was just an example of "empire building". Mr Harper answered by saying, 'Over the years, Canada has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.'
Awesome. That is one savage towel snap to the nads. Who knew our PM had it in him? Except that he didn't. And even that variation is quite possibly an urban legend.
I wouldn't bother correcting any of the yahoos currently circulating that story, though. They like their universe of total fiction. Why disturb it?
AFTERSNARK: Amusingly, Marek's first commenter calls him on the urban mythiness of his crap, to which Marek responds:
Yes AtlanticJim, they likely are Myths, but:
- a great number of French cooperated with the Nazis in WW2
- the French resistance spent more time killing each other (communists vs Nationalists)than they did killing Germans inflicting more casualties on each other than the Germans did on them.
- the French police did ALL the rounding up of Jews
and a bunch of other stuff to deflect from the fact that he's passing off fairy tales as fact and he's been busted for it.. Ah, well, Paul is a Blogging Tory ... flat-out lying just goes with the territory.
DID YOU KNOW THE WORD "GULLIBLE" ISN'T IN THE DICTIONARY? Oh, for the love of mutt, do any of these dingbats have any sense of skepticism at all?
Yeah, that was rhetorical.

I also heard this story about a ship yelling at another ship on the radio until the other guy finally says "We're a lighthouse. Your call."
You could've heard a pin drop.
And there was the hilarious incident involving Speedbird 206. That really happened, you know. I heard Stephen Harper was the pilot.
Well, I don't think anyone can not give him credit for destroying the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada, though.
I submitted this comment of Papa Junker's:
"Tom: I have no idea if the posted "pin drops" are myths, or if they are simply intended to be parables or allegory. The point that they get across is clear; and based on history."
Yeah, A simpleton's history."
It was deleted and I was banned.
"I have no idea if the posted "pin drops" are myths"
from junkie's source:
"Very amazing answers...and very true."
an unsolicited, superfluous testimonial. that's how we know that they know they're lying.
