When really stupid people write newspaper columns.

Via POGGE, we have the dumbassitude of The Star's James Travers (all emphasis added):

Dion's triumph over favourite Michael Ignatieff marks a generational shift within the party, pushes the environment to the top of the national agenda and hands Stephen Harper's Conservatives a priceless gift.

Hmmmmm ... handing the right-wing opposition a freebie ... that sounds disturbingly familiar ... oh, right:

There is a distinct possibility that John "Magic Hat" Kerry just single-handedly severely damaged the Democrats. Even if Kerry made a mistake, he completely blew it when he went on the nearly deranged sounding attack in his press release. Tom Bevan over at Real Clear Politics calls this an absolute gift to the Republicans.

And here:

Clinton's melt down on Fox News Sunday began as a gift to the Republicans.

And here:

Both Chris Plante and Chris Core are basically less-talented-but-just-as-obnoxious Rush Limbaugh wannabes. Anyway, Chris, whichever one it was, was going on and on about how a Lamont victory was a gift to the Republicans.

And here:

this is a gift to the Republicans, totally absurd,Murtha as Hitchens has pointed out, is another crazed anti-Bush crackpot,..THEY MAY BLOW THIS EASY WIN IN NOV...

And here:

The furor the Clinton folks are raising over the ABC mini-series is another gift to the Republicans.

And here:

Howard Dean couldnt plan a trip to his mailbox. Dean is a nut case and is a great gift to the Republicans.

And here:

That is why the Feingold censure resolution was such a gift to the Republicans, because it was a reminder to disgruntled Republican voters of what they would face if the Democrats took control of Congress.

Yeah, yeah, yeah ... endless fucking gifts to the GOP. Refresh my memory ... how did those recent midterm elections turn out?

Don't you think this posting was an absolute gift to the wingnuts?

"a generational shift within the party,"

might that not reflect across the general population and therefore totally screw the cons?

Or does he think such things happen only inside the vaccuum of party politics totally independent of the rest of the world?
