Delightful. Just delightful. Writes washingtonpost.com Executive Editor Jim Brady:
We're not giving up on the concept of having a healthy public dialogue with our readers, but this experience shows that we need to think more carefully about how we do it.
Here's a suggestion, Jimbo -- fire that lying slut Howell, then stop lying to your readers. Does that work for you?
AFTERSNARK: In case you need to know what just happened here, this should explain it all. In short:
- Claim you're open-minded and want to have a "dialogue."
- Be so dishonest and sleazy that people finally lose their tempers.
- Sanctimoniously claim that you refuse to continue the discussion with people who can't keep a civil tongue in their heads, and claim victory.
- Rinse and repeat with a whole new group of victims.
SUPER DUPER AFTERSNARK: I think Jesus' General has a handle on this situation.
