It's always better in Princess Rainbow Sparkle Pony Land.

Normally, this would be disturbing news:

Drought to cut off federal water to Calif. farms

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Federal water managers said Friday that they plan to cut off water, at least temporarily, to thousands of California farms as a result of the deepening drought gripping the state.

U.S. Bureau of Reclamation officials said parched reservoirs and patchy rainfall this year were forcing them to completely stop surface water deliveries for at least a three-week period beginning March 1. Authorities said they haven't had to take such a drastic move for more than 15 years.

But it's no big deal if you're a Blogging Tory:

The truth is, of course, the amount of water in the world is the same as it's always been. The oceans, the water aloft and the icecaps; all there. The rain will continue, the rivers will flow, the snow will fall. No matter what the loony environmentalists have to say, and no matter how long they say it, the cycle will continue.

As will the cycle of Blogging Tory stupid. I swear, the heat death of the universe can't come too soon for me.

In light of this, I recommend that we now call them 'warming truthers'.

As somebody with a degree in environmental studies, I am qualified to call him a complete and utter dipshit. I mean, I'd do it regardless, but it just adds something extra.

Right! Absolutely right! So let's pop Frank on a nice big raft in the middle of the Pacific, with plenty of freeze-dried foods but no water -- since he'll be within feet of a gazillion gallons of water all around him. I am sure he won't mind the slight impurities in it, after all, the liquids of the human body are as salty as sea water, so drinking sea water should be no trouble at all, right?

Oh, no, Noni, he says we just need to build two hundred nuclear power plants to desalinate the universe. He could use an extra head or two, so that doesn't pose much of a problem, really.

Sounds like he gets his information directly from those two internationally reknowned scientists, David Warren and Mark Steyn.

First comment over there from Hunter -- agreeing with him. On her blog today, she was talking about Iggy's picture on the giant gumbo tron. Read it again -- the giant gumbo tron. Poor Frank...

Heh! I see he's shifted his argument in an attempt to make any point which involves accessibility and demand non sequitur. Now he's saying he wasn't talking about that - just that there is as much water in the cycle as there always was.

In the most simplistic terms, he's right. It's exactly the same as saying daffodils are plants and always have been. It's a factual observation with no purpose.

Frank was obviously attempting to make a greater point and when others (Griff, KEvron, et al.) squeezed him he tried to weasel out by suggesting he was simply stating a fact... with no particular purpose.

And then there's the 100 nuclear reactors he suggests be used to desalinate the ocean... hmmm. (Check thing in frame over there... yup! Oceanography degree.) I eagerly await Frank's simple thesis on how this is to be accomplished without wiping out the critical inter-tidal zones in several US coastal states.

I guess as long as it's raining outside Frank's window everything is just "swimmingly" wonderful. No mention that the minimum temperature is a full 7 degrees C higher than seasonal normals and precipitation should be coming down as snow - not rain.

I was thinking more along the lines of chaining big concrete blocks to him and throwing him off the Golden Gate bridge and reming him that in Calif. there is just as much air in the world as there always has been so don't worry we'll come get in an hour or two.

I mean, Gesus Christ and Joddammit!

The truth is, of course, the amount of dumbassery in the world is the same as it's always been. The National Post, the National Review and the John Birch Society; all there. The moronic bullshit will continue, the rivers of crapola will flow, the self-serving snow will fall. No matter what the people in the reality-based community have to say, and no matter how long they say it, the cycle of completely insane nuttery will continue.
