If Ms. Coulter's legal residence is in Connecticut, and Ms. Coulter keeps an apartment or condo in New York solely for business purposes, she has a right, under the Internal Revenue Code, to deduct the cost of her NY pad as a "business expense." Plus, she pays the non-resident tax rate in New York.
