Buyer's remorse, wingnut style.

Oh, dear (emphasis leg-humpingly added):

Backlash Against Bush Apparent in RNC
Many Members Seek New Chairman to Steer Party in a Different Direction

As they begin meeting in Washington today, many members of the Republican National Committee are focusing their ire against what they considered George W. Bush's anti-conservative policies and trying to dump the man he tapped to run the GOP.

Hmmmm ... whingers finally fed up with the "anti-conservative" tendencies of their Glorious Leader? That sounds vaguely familiar. No, no, don't tell me ... it'll come to me.

The time to change direction is before the car sails off the cliff, not after.

Actually, that's giving these buffoons too much credit. There was never anyone at the wheel of that clown car.

the big difference is the Dubya followed a staunch 'conservative' agenda (US o' A style)--tax cuts for the rich, less oversight, screw the constitution in order to "preserve it", bombing and maiming the 'darkskins'...
Turns out now the US cons are up-in-arms because Dubya did exactly what they wanted him to do and to no intelligent person's surprise, it didn't work (see CC's entry a few days ago regarding one Dave Frum...)
Stevey Wonder over here--in order to maintain his power grip--sees the writing on the wall and is implementing more, shall we say, liberal policies.
So our cons are pissed because Stevy sold them out to stay where he is.
Again, no intelligent person should be surprised by the outcome of any of this.

If they mock leftists for saying that the Soviet Union wasn't socialist, then they can't turn around and say that bush II wasn't "conservative."

To most bushlovers, "conservative" meant what normal people would call "appalling stupidity," and it didn't work because it was appallingly stupid.

Wanna bet they wind up trading in "appallingly stupid" for "pathologically stupid"? Huh, wanna?

Just wait for it.
