Regarding that self-loathing, homophobic, drug addict, lying sack of crap, evangelical douchebag Ted Haggard, Jonathan "The Strong Conservative" Strong writes in the comments section back here:
I don't really think you should be so cheerful about a guy admitting a drug problem and cheating on his family. Its a tragedy all around, not something to be happy about... Jesus said that those without sin should throw the first stone, so if that's you... go for it.
Yeah, Jonathan ... you and your fellow Blogging Tories are just the bunch to be giving the rest of us lectures on compassion and forgiveness.
By the way, Jonathan, that was sarcasm. Just in case you missed it.
IS IT JUST ME, or has anyone else noticed that the wanks who have infested this thread have not the slightest sense of self-awareness or their own howling hypocrisy? How else to explain the hilariously inconsistent treatment of one of their own?
Jonathan (in an earlier comment) writes (emphasis added):
I don't really think you should be so cheerful about a guy admitting a drug problem and cheating on his family.
Except, of course, when it's a Democrat (see "Bill Clinton") cheating on his family, whereupon that poor sap is fair game for years of ridicule, public humiliation and ceaseless efforts to drive him from office, right?
(By the way, Jonathan, Haggard didn't just "cheat on his family." Having consensual oral relations with a legal-age White House employee -- that's cheating. Getting it on with a gay male hooker for over three years while using your public influence to condemn homosexuality -- that's being an immoral, hypocritical sleazebag. Try to appreciate the difference.)
And it's a bit difficult to appreciate why one should embrace this whole forgiveness and prayer meme when it comes to an appalling pervert like Haggard after the wankersphere just finished running Michael J. Fox through the meat grinder. I mean, here's a guy who has Parkinson's disease, for fuck's sake, but was attacked mercilessly as a partisan shill for the Democratic Party.
Yeah, guys, why don't you tell us all about Christian love and compassion? I just don't get enough right-wing hypocrisy in my life these days.
