Blogging Tories Short Takes: Sat, Nov. 25, 2006.

Shorter Kitchener Conservative: "For the sake of civil discourse, it's critically important that we show the maturity to eventually put issues like this behind us, and move on."

Shorter Kate McMillan: "For the sake of civil discourse, it's critically important that we never forget issues like this, and that we keep dragging them out and clubbing our opponents with them every chance we get."

Shorter True North: "When it comes right down to it, kids these days are being brainwashed with a bunch of leftist, liberal propaganda just oozing with tolerance, open-mindedness and a respect for the basic human rights of everyone else. This has got to stop."

You must be talking about the people who are still protesting Harper yesterday for something from 4 months ago, right?

How cute! You're just adorable, aren't you?

Aww, thanks eb.....You're right I guess I do have trouble understanding the crappy point Cynic's trying to make.

Perhaps that's just it, he doesn't make a point.

Wow...put cynic's comments in a sarcastic light and he actually looks like he's a Tory supporter afterall.

Doesn't Kitchener Conservative know there's a time and place for everything?

I'm disgusted...*purses lips*

Does that mean that all of you conservatives now have to shut up about things that happened in the past?

Crickets would be chirping across Canada because that's basically all you've got.

What I want to know is the last time True North walked into a classroom.
Let alone talk about GWB.

That's the point Ti-Guy. Did you even read the posting or are you just making smart-a$$ comments? Catnip....go back and READ. It seems there's a lot of people here who haven't been in the classroom for some time.
The point is that these "Liberal" supporters have to drudge up things from the past just to try to knock the Tories down. The point is that those actions are getting tired and boring.
Please READ before you post and maybe sign up for a class in POLITICS so you all understand what you're talking about next time.

Yeah, who the hell cares what happened in the summer? That's like, so 2006.

The point of my post wasn't that people shouldn't protest something that happened x time ago. I believe in the idea that people have the right to protest something that they feel strongly about. One of the things that makes out country great is that you can protest without the fear that you're going to get run over by tanks.

That being said, the announcement in November of a new strategy to fight cancer, a terrible disease that most of us can say we've been touched by in some way, is probably not the appropriate time and place to protest about the Hezbollah-Israeli conflict from July.

You guys really don't get it do you?
I make wonder how many of you actually read blogs in their entirety or just skim headlines and read what you want into it. Judging from many of your responses it certainly looks that way.

Oh, we get it all to well, little conservative. Conservatives engage in the endless distraction of criticising all dissent as being innappropriate or off-topic or irrational or as any number of qualities that really only serve to devalue and deligitamise opposition. You've been doing it so breathelessly and so predictably in the last while that it has all become silly background noise and pathetic bleating, the only sensible response to which is ridicule.

Don't blame anyone else; if you don't want to be ridiculed when you don't think you should be, then stop being so ridiculous. And you might start by crabbing less about your detractors and talking about your own ideas and positions.

That is, if you actually have any. I'm starting to think political conservatism can only define itself in terms of its opposition.

Maybe if your Tory top dogs weren't hiding from the public and the press most of the time, things like that wouldn't happen.

Who cares about what's 'appropriate' when? Politicians should expect to face tough questions and protests whenever they make themselves available. Hell, here in Alberta people are *still* bitching about the NEP 20+ years later every chance they get.

If yuor guys can't stand the heat, tell them to stay out of the kitchen.

Lord Kitcher is living in a Pre November 11th 2006 Fantasy World. If we don't protest Stephen Harper.. the terrorists will win.

AH.... that was fun, and easy. It can be applied to every single issue, at any time to justify ANYTHING.

hehehe
