So long, and thanks for all the ...

No, no, just yanking ya, really. But, seriously, I'm going to be on the road for the next week or so; consequently, blogging might be a bit light from my end. Therefore, in order to keep up the required level of vituperativeness, we're bringing on guest blogger (and recent commenter) "LuLu", who seems to have figured out how things work here. Profanity is not required; it's simply a bonus as long as it's done with a touch of class.

She might need a couple posts to find her way around Blogger, but I don't imagine it's going to take long. Now I'm going to go drink heavily. Don't call me unless it's an emergency.

Holy crap ... I'm arguing with Kitchener Conservative on an earlier thread and now I find out I have the keys to the place and I haven't even packed ...

Thanks Boss - give a girl a chance to catch up, would you?

Lulu better not use any swear words; my sensibilities are very delicate.

CC's probably going on a treasonous shopping spree...where is it this time? The outlet mall in Cheektowaga?

dear me ms lulu, we shant be causing our dear ti-guy to have another of his spells shall we? he is a delicate flower. and speaking of cheektowaga...back in the old punk rock days a band we used to gig with (that never had the same name twice) used to do a song for the buffalo region, went something like

channel 7, channel 7
irv weinstein died for sins
cheektowaga's on fire again
and i ain't drank enough
to give it a piss

this was usually followed by some form of assault on the audience. ah good times.

I thought it was North Tonawanda that was always on fire.

The Fires of North Tonawanda is the title of the overwrought, coming-of-age novel I shall be famous for.

yeah that whole cheektowaga, lackawanna, tonawanda area went through a flammable period during my formative years. syracuse, not as much.

Cheektowaga, Lackawanna, North Tonawanda, LOL. Didn't even the fire halls in those places burn down?

When I was a kid my friends and I loved watching Eyewitness News with Irv because it was "the goriest news". Lots of action, DBs being dragged out of flaming infernos, it never ended.

Don't forget Batavia.

Buffalo to me evokes memories of WNED.

I always loved the way "Goldie" could just keep on talking non-stop during their beg-a-thons.

Heh

"Irv Weinstein, you're really a pro!
Ya got all the news that we wanna know.
You tell it like it is and never throw us a curve,
Nobody says it like Ir-r-r-r-v !
Eye-wit-ness News (Yes-sah!)"

Dear darlings, I promise to swear only as necessary ... and, hopefully, in a righteous and witty fashion. I'm aiming to have my first post up tomorrow now that the drunken elves masquerading as reno guys are out, OUT of my house.

Any suggestions?

How about the GST on tampons?

Ti-Guy said...

How about tampons generally? I think they're hilarious, for some reason.

Sheena said...

OK Lulu. Ti-Guy and Sheena win.
Let the words flow...

Maybe it can be a monthly column...

Did you ever see Tampons of Glory?

O Beautiful, for spacious Skies,
For amber Waves of Grai...ai...ain...

I owe you one, ti-guy.
I'm off to Washington DC this week and the timing is well, bloody perfect.
