He lied, OK?

Seriously, can we finally suggest politely that Bush lied and not get into an argument over it?

(("I mean, talk about a direct IV into the vein of your support. It's a very efficient way to communicate. They regurgitate exactly and put up on their blogs what you said to them. It is something that we've cultivated and have really tried to put quite a bit of focus on."

..........I think that pretty much sums up how you're not going to get your wish, CC. But doesn't it just confirm everything anecdotally observed about the supports of the neo-cons south and north of the 49th?

I would have been more surprising to learn that he didn't lie.

Do you have a link for that?

Maybe he "forgot"....

I don't think Bush lied.

He just does not believe the info he has been told.

The logic is like this:

We should reck the economy to fight gobal warming just in case it is real. Lefty.

We should nuke Iran just in case they are a threat. Bushy.

Both views are nuts.

So how come Bush can’t apply the same “pre-emptive” logic to climate-warming that he and his inner circle do towards perceived national security threats?

He's fighting Climate Change over there so we doesn't have to fight it here, RT.

Pure genius.

A very good question, red tory.

The far left and the far right are saying the sky is falling, for different reasons. Each side is saying the other is not taking things seriously.

Like always the truth is somewhere in the middle.

So how come the Left can't apply the same pre-emptive logic to radical Islam that they and their inner circle do towards perceived manmade global warming?

Your question is on of those million dollar ones.

red tory: excellent question!

um, because the "far left" is backed by, you know, credible scientific studies......

That's because the climate is regulated by the Christian God (and thus is behaving as it should), whereas as those awful brown people are governed by lesser Gods, possibly demons. Really scary ones with the horns and the pitch-forks and everything.

You know, the wingers will really feel a lot less confused and be a lot less irrational once they accept that people lie all the time, and the more powerful they are, the bigger the lie.

Of course, since wingers also lie all the time, I doubt we'll see much careful reflection in that respect.

Except for progressive leaders. And progressives.

I'm sure the "Fascist" one will quickly follow. Predictability is soooooooooo boring ...

Frist and last.

Correct. We'll see careful reflection from those parties, as per usual.

Boy I needed a good laugh, thanks ti-guy.

But more importantly, its the class, and grace of these folks that truly warms the heart.

Doing something significant about climate change = wrecking the economy is a conservative lie.

Why does "fighting global warming" mean you have to wreck the economy?

Countries that are far ahead of us are pursuing this without falling into economic destruction. In fact, the deployment of green technology is stimulating business.

Finally, even if the whole thing turns out be a giant hoax, we still have to face the fact that our economy is based on a resource that is finite and one day will become too expensive to bring to market - most of the green initiatives will have to be implemented anyway.

toujoursdann - if there's so much money to be made in green technologies, why aren't greedy capitalist bastards already developing them?
