Survey: Support for terror suspect torture differs among the faithful
The more often Americans go to church, the more likely they are to support the torture of suspected terrorists, according to a new survey.
So ... irrational scientific illiterates are more likely to want to inflict pain and suffering on others. Go figure, eh?

CNN was sweet to keep the headline unbiased:
"Support for terror suspect torture differs among the faithful"
as opposed to my choice:
"Faithful more likely to support torture"
Good thing I am not a journalist.
Well I suppose when you're constantly told the story of a berobed and swarthy insurgent tortured at the hands of an empire, it begins to make a sense of sorts.
If Jesus throws floods, flu & earthquakes at teh gays, why shouldn't Christians throw torture at terrorists? Besides, what America does to them is nothing compared to teh eternal hellfire that awaits them in the afterlife.

Well I suppose when you're constantly told the story of a berobed and swarthy insurgent tortured at the hands of an empire, it begins to make a sense of sortsToo bad that's not explicit knowledge with these so-called Christians.
Frankly, if a faith group can't remember one single salient issue with regard to the life of Christ, it's time to stop calling them Christians and have them revert to their pre-Christian designation. What was it again? Canaanites? Heathens?
Ti-guy: "Romans" maybe? And I'm not sure if it's a case of not remembering with these people so much as it is one of - like so many other things - failing to acknowledge. If they did, they'd have to find some other idol or symbol through which to ascribe their vileness belief system (Satan? Walmart? an F-22?). But because they construct themselves and the world in terms of good and evil of which they are the former, and Christ is good, then they must by their logic be Christian. The facts, yet again, be damned.
Truly cognitively fucked, they are.
Hmmm... Boris, I had a similar thought.
"Followers and supporters of tortured Jewish rebel mystic more likely to support torture."
There. That headline seems more accurate.
Let me get this straight...the people who are more likely to justify the suffering of some people via torture to protect others from suffering are the SAME people who refuse to allow the destruction of embryos (who aren't physiologically capable of suffering) to prevent the suffering of living people?
...Logic: they're doing it rong
