Sadly, Canada's Defence Minister has taken to asking and answering his own questions:
“But,” he added, “can Canada be influential in these discussions at NATO? Absolutely.”
“Can we work close with our allies and with the Afghan government to play a positive role and ensure that everyone is engaged in these efforts to protect the public? Yes.”
And if that sounds familiar, well, it should:
[Donald] Rumsfeld has an annoying habit of asking and answering his own questions during press conferences, etc., in the following fashion:
"Are there still Taliban around? You bet. Are they occupying safe havens in Afghanistan and other places? Certainly they are. Is the violence up? Yes. Does the violence tend to be up during the spring, summer and fall months? Yes it does. Does that represent failed policy? I don’t know. I would say not."
Would we all be better off if Peter MacKay shut the fuck up? I think so.

When he starts talking about known knowns and unknown unknowns, then we got a problem...
He's not smart enough to be answering his own questions.
Uhoh, I see a tearful Peter McKay in a field of potatoes.
And the potatoes have outsmarted him?
I'm not laughing. The continentalists are gearing up to have Canada extend its mission in Afghanistan.
Cripes, we'll be down to sending high school kids to Iran, then.
But when I sat across from him years ago in the Halifax Maple Leaf Lounge all I could do was stare at his very flawless skin and wonder what products he used.
I'm guessing fresh-squeezed placenta and embryo. That and collagen.
