There's also a bizarre confluence of crypto-bros and oil/coal bros happening. Crypto needs vast amounts of electricity to feed the giant sudoku puzzle solvers, and that means that they're buying up coal and ng generating plants that have been shut down to feed their rapacious needs.

It's not just "grifty AF", it's literally making money from nothing - the epitome of late stage capitalism.
