OK, I GOT SOMETHIN': Apparently, Ezra is furious that someone is simply taking money from everybody without asking permission first. Just takes it. From everyone. Without even asking. Why, those ... those ... grifters!
There is some irony here since, as part of his mysterious "Fight the Fines" campaign, Ezra assures everyone that he has partnered with an equally mysterious registered charity, "The Democracy Fund," to arrange charitable tax receipts for donors:
And as most people know, charitable tax receipts from CRA-registered charities are funded via ... wait for it ... wait for it ... public funds!! That's right -- every time someone asks for a tax receipt and uses it to decrease their taxable income, that decrease comes out of public money, which comes from me and you. In short, by handing out charitable tax receipts, Ezra is taking money. From everyone. Without even asking.
I'm glad we had this little chat.
P.S. We're not done with "The Democracy Fund." Not by a country mile.
