Random snark from the blogosphere:
From the Washington Post:
The White House wants to appoint a high-powered czar to oversee the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with authority to issue directions to the Pentagon, the State Department and other agencies, but it has had trouble finding anyone able and willing to take the job, according to people close to the situation.
Well, I know that Mr. Bush wanted to be the first CEO president, but staffing out fighting the wars is a little much, don't you think?
As Rep. Rahm Emanuel noted, that job is already filled: by the Commander in Chief, aka the President.
Wasn't it Mr. Bush who strutted around like a teenager with a sock stuffed in his pants saying he was a WAR president? What happened? Is the job too much for him to handle?
Just a historical reminder: Franklin Roosevelt ended a depression, fought a world war, and made America into the most powerful nation on the face of the earth, and he did it without scaring the crap out of us, he did it with firm allies both at home and abroad (many of whom were his bitter political opponents), and he did it all from a wheelchair.
Big deal. George ran the country while being an inarticulate, cocaine-snorting, dry drunk, and he did it on a Segway.
OK, maybe not that last part.

The Bush administration has already outsourced the war. To Blackwater. Interesting read that.
