On the other hand ...

Shorter Andrew Coyne: "For Michael Ignatieff to be taken seriously, he must demonstrate courage, leadership, transparency, accountability, openness, vision and integrity. I would hold Stephen Harper to the same lofty standards but, oh, gosh, would you look at the time?"

Ignatieff does demonstrate transparency.

Iggy is transparent because he is as shallow as a puddle in parking lot on a hot summer day.

Coyne also said on "At Issue" on CBC the other night that Harpo is coming very close to a major scandal with his out of control partisan attacks and his secrecy.

Except it's not the public reacting to Ignatieff, it's the media. It's just that media insiders can't see the difference anymore.

And Harper will be in trouble over the Conservative Party logo on the infrastructure cheques - but only if the media shows it for what it is - a really big deal because it flies directly in the face of what government is supposed to be.

I agree with Coyne. Harper's not the one heading for single digits in the polls. Out of control spending (the rec room renovation subsidy, for instance) is a worthy issue on which to take a stand, to show some spine. Did we suffer all of that come hell or high water deficit slaying for nothing?

Which is about twice as deep as Fred

Single digits Percy? Please, that's just bs conjecture and arrogance on your part

Well, dismissing your hysterical hyperbole, why is that, exactly?

Don't expect Coyne-a-Loyne-a Ding Dong to examine that anytime soon.

Because as bad as Harper is, the Libs have absolutely nothing to offer in response. And that ain't Coyne's fault.

Shouldn't it be enough not to be as criminally inept as Harper?

The Liberals had this country's finances in order back in 2006. But that wasn't good enough was it? And now Conservatives are having buyer's remorse and it's still the Liberals fault.

When the Liberals end up having to clean up this mess, unlike the last time, it'll be coming out of the hide of Conservative voters exclusively. I'm not paying back any more right wing debt.
