Please tell me you've already thought of this.


I'm sure I can't be the only one who thinks it's just a bit surreal for the U.S. government to, on the one hand, demand that Canada co-operate in prosecuting Canadian Marc Emery while, simultaneously, telling Canada to suck it in terms of the softwood lumber dispute.

Is anyone up on Parliament Hill connecting these two issues? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Hadn't, actually. But watch the Americans blink and say, deadpan: "That's not the same thing at all. You see, in the Marc Emery case, we are right. And in the softwood lumber case, you are wrong."

And then whichever odious spokesman they've trotted out will sit there for a few moments and blink to wet his froggish eyes, betraying his lineage as the Republican congressman from Innsmouth, Mass.

Just posted on this softwood nonsense myself.

Actually, a better reference would be the Mad Cow and the softwood lumber, were gonna win them both, give them Emery in trade....
