Canada still with perfect record in coming through with aid pledges
(Canada) -- In a front-page Globe and Mail story describing how initial disaster aid pledges don't always translate into actual, you know, disaster aid money, we have that, although Canada is still noticeably stingy in terms of GDP portion, in terms of aid, "Canada's record of following through on its humanitarian promises appears to be unblemished ...".
In remotely-related news, the Bush administration announced a further increase of $75 million in emergency aid by promising to ship 500,000 commemorative George Bush inauguration dinner plates, valued at $150 each.
