Portions of Ms. Mallick’s column do not meet the standards set out in policy for a point-of-view piece since some of her “facts” are unsupportable.
Well deary me, I typed three words into the Google box: Republican sex scandal. That generated 1,410,000 hits. Not fair you say, not fair. So, re-submitted in quotes, a mere 24,300 hits, why that ain't hardly nothing. And what is perched at the top of the hit parade, a handy little wiki from the friendly communist nazis at Daily Kos, dkosopedia, and what would it contain, a veritable (emphasis on veritable) parade of Republican peccadilloes! And what seems to feature heavily are aberrant sexual exploits, illicit recordings & videotaping, sex with minors, infidelity, prostitutes, kinks, child porn as well as some garden variety stuff, burglaries, drunk driving and the like. What is routine among them is that they are members of the mom & apple pie, family values, Jesus and June Cleaver party. These lying hypocrites are so bound up by the lies their party perpetuates that their normal sex drives get sublimated, twisted into these disturbing convolutions. They have to lie and hide their normal and natural proclivities, add time and pressure and somehow these outbursts of deviance seem to follow.
Perhaps Heather Mallick simply chose the wrong terminology, inadequate seems to indicate they can't perform the sexual act. When it comes to our dear conservative friends, that clearly isn't the case. They sure can perform the sexual act, in a rubber suit with a dildo up the ass, with a gay hooker on a meth hunt, with Congressional pages, in chat rooms, with children, hookers or strangers in toilets. To be more accurate, Mallick might have opted for a term like, corrupt sexual hypocrites. Surely the CBC Ombudsman in investigating the claims against Heather Mallick and her ever so naughty article actually did the 0.31 seconds of research it took me and Google to come up with a few "facts". So, swiped wholesale from the dkosopedia are the Republican sex scandals of the George W. Bush era. I'm sorry, what's that too familiar chattering sound? But but but... Clinton. He gots'd a blow job! Oh how could we forget that old fave? That was sufficient to disrupt the entirety of the American political system in a witch hunt that cost millions to achieve an impeachment. So it's all good. Still, fun stuff in the list ahead, help yourself Mr Carlin.

Whew! Busy little fuckers, them conservatives.
Still with us? Okay, the other charges seem to stem from Heather Mallick's unkind assessment of the Palin family in her article. The use of the term "white trash" causes some discomfort, as well as the references to Palin's daughter. Evidently, Mr Carlin lives in a bubble since he supposes there is no factual basis for the opinion that Palin supporters are white trash. Why how ever could one find documentary evidence to support such an outrage? Let's just go back to that infernal Google shall we Mr Carlin... this time searching for "Palin supporters". No lefty homo bias or nothing in that search string. And coming in at No. 3 on the list, asking that musical question How Many Palin Supporters Believe Demons Shape Our Politics? is the Irregular Times. Let's go to the quotes shall we?
The following are a few of the comments that have been made by people finding out about Sarah Palin’s connection to Thomas Muthee, the witch hunting pastor who is once again visiting the Wasilla Assembly of God church this coming weekend:
“The demons are real and cause much trouble. Just look at America. We have forsaken GOD and his son Jesus Christ, and Harry Potter is the new god we are teaching our children. Is it any wonder that our civilization is faltering. Every nation that has fogotten GOD has been cast down to hell. Blessed is the nation whose GOD is the LORD.”
“he [Muthee] and she [Palin] are up against Obama this time…a candidate for AntiChrist of the Last Days”
“Witches are a serious problem, and Africans seem to recognise the spiritual realm much more than northern europeans.”
“Spiritual warfare is real, I have experienced this myself, though not to the degree described here. I have also been a part of church services similar to what Sarah Palin describes, where ministers have spoken to people about things they could not have known beforehand. God does work through others. Given the media basis, I’m sure some of the accounts given of Pastor Muthee’s Kenyan ministries is skewed to make Palin look bad.
Creationism should be taught in schools, it is much more plausible than Evolution. In fact, Evolution is being increasingly discredited at an expanding rate while evidence of ‘intelligent design’ is being accepted my more and more scientist.”
“We are not fighting against only politicians but demons as well. The Bible says that the god of this world is Satan.”
“Praise Jesus . . . and praise Pastor Muthee for recognizing their is evil in the world. God expects us to pray to ward off evil . . . and evil is everywhere my friends.”
“There is significant evidence that witches and witch doctors actually do things to people - heal, curse, etc. We ultra-rationalists in the West want to believe that there is nothing outside our understanding, but that is only faulty logic.”
“You basic generic secular humanist American does not understand Christianity or African witchcraft. African witches are trained to kill through poisons mostly or other means as needed. They target people specifically. This is to obtain finances or power. Spiritual warfare is important to Christians and it does have amazing results but it will always be downplayed and mocked the the secular population.”
“Evil spirits are real and they control many people in Washington, New York and especially Hollywood. It’s time for reality people. You cannot deny that Lohan and others like her are not being manipulated by evil spirits.”
“Witches are the tool of satan to bring chaos and fear upon humanity, but thank God for Pastors that recognize Gods power is greater than satan. Go Sarah!!”
“Witches and witchcraft are very prevalent in foreign countries, and by the way, demons are very real too not just something Hollywood dreamed up.”
“You say I do not believe that mumbo jumbo about the Devil and Demons! But I ask you what you base that belief on, is it a feeling you have in your gut, or maybe you took your position because someone you respect did not believe in Christ or were you enlightened by a university professor?”
“It’s too bad the libs are so satanic. God Bless the USA.”
“Witchcraft is real and talked about in The Bible. So is Spiritual Warfare. To deny a God takes more faith than accepting One.”
“Witchcraft and demon procession are real and have been around since the beginning of time.”
“I attended just last night a prayer service where a woman involved in witchcraft was freed from demonic posession.”
I suppose we can forgive the Ombudsman for failing to try and verify any of these wild claims in the Mallick article, after all that Google search returned 6,230,000 hits but it took an aching, eternal 0.33 seconds to do it. Why in this day of high speed latte sipping elitism, that's an eon. The fact that Sarah Palin is a religious lunatic is entirely her own business and certainly shouldn't be an impediment to her seeking the second most powerful office in the world. In this new, liberal minded millennium we need to open our minds and hearts to a diversity of opinions and beliefs. As long as it isn't those evil muzzies from Terrorstan, just wave a crucifix and it is all good. Paging Governor Koresh to the white courtesy phone. Still, charges of being white trash are a little harsh, no? After all, Palin's meteoric rise hasn't been checkered by anything scandalous. Using her high office to settle a family vendetta against her sister's ex-husband, a state trooper, nothing white trash about that. Allegedly firing Alaska's state police chief for refusing to shit-can the brother in law, what? Jeez, you'd think it was white trashy for the lady's husband to refuse to co-operate with investigators and be required by subpoena to appear at hearings investigating the charges. Never mind that the not-at-all-white-trash Palin supporters are claiming that Obama operatives are somehow manipulating the Alaska state investigative process, up there in the state where Palin is governor.
As for those quality family values, there has yet to be an explanation tendered for the mysterious and risky behaviour of the governor, flying the length of the continent after her water broke to have her most recent of five kids. As for the daughter, modelling the kind of family values that Republicans are famous for, the governor's eldest is pregnant at 17. I feel really sorry for the child and the child she is about to have. Because that family has dragged her into the business of smiling and acting like nothing is wrong, they trumpeted the engagement of the girl to her self-professed "fucking redneck" baby daddy and McCain campaign operatives have been quoted celebrating the idea of a pre-election wedding (shotgun only implied) as a front page event that will bust the campaign momentum down for a week. That poor girl is being exploited on the altar of mommy's bright white trash ambitions. The Palin/McCain campaign are the ones responsible for making a spectacle out of the girl. White trash, I think the evidence is mounting, don't you Mr Carlin?
On CBCNews.ca, there does not
appear to be a wide range of “pointy” views.
Ahem... Rex fuckin' Murphy. Sir, if you must spout off at the behest of the masters from Fox, at least make an attempt to cover the stink of bullshit. It is as though you and the management of the CBC think we, the general public who pay your wage, are stupid.
Opinion and analysis should be clearly labeled and not lumped together. If an item is
meant to be satiric, it should be labeled as such.
Oh how silly of me, you do think we're stupid. Reading Mallick's piece we are obviously not bright enough to recognize satire without a flashing light reminding us that this is not a dissertation, litany or insurance manual. You Mr Carlin and your complicit and cowardly superiors have buckled to pressure from a handful of pearl clutching ninnies and let us not forget what put the real fear in your quisling heart. You betrayed one of your own freelancers because you were scared of the noisy reaction. You have become enemies of freedom and liberty, engaging in censorship at the behest of the liars who pretend to support freedom of speech. Most telling is the incredibly slanted question you report with a timorous quaver in your typing...
I even
received a phone call from the Fox News web outlet inquiring whether the views
expressed represented the position of Canadians and “the Government of Canada.”
CBC is being run by cowards, it seems. Change your britches little man, the scary people will go away now that you've bent a knee and given in to their ignorant demands.

This is all part of setting up CBC for sale to private interests once Extra Large Family Economy Sized Stephen has his precioussssss majority.
I'm getting a strong sense of precisely which buzzard is already hovering above the anticipated feast of maggoty carrion.

goodniks, d'oh.
Agree, psa. Of course it would be CRTC first. Canadian ownership requirements? Canadian content regulations? Not with Teh Preciousssss Majority. That was the unspoken given.
It just unnerves me that FucksNoise makes a big production out of a taxpayer-funded public broadcaster while the rest of us are supposed to look at all the Bush administration payola that's been doled out to generate propaganda that FucksNoise favours its audience with and pretend that's somehow different.
This is how fascism starts...with Gleichschaltung
Wow. She really touched a nerve with that sexual inadequacy fact about Republicans, eh?
Louisiana guy is David Vitter, rather than Vittner. That's David Vitter, hypocrite. Important to get these guys' names right. They deserve all the exposure we can give them.
The CBC, especially CBC Radio, has been drifting right ever since Harper took over in 2006. don't expect it to be sold, expect it to be transformed into the Harper Faux News type propaganda arm.
We need to get rid of the bootlickers Rabinovitch and Stursberg and there might be a tiny chance of saving the CBC from becoming Faux "News." Probably not, though. They'd just be replaced by other wingnuts.
I'm so grieved at the loss of the integrity of the CBC. Shall we start our own? :-)
Awesome post. Thank you.
Is there a list of democrat pervs out there too? I'd like to make a compare and contrast and send 'em to my neocon father-in-law.
i'm sure the democratic perv list exists somewhere shannon. i don't think it would be unkind or incorrect to suggest that those who hanker after power tend toward the kinky.
Isn't the CBC's head of news, John Cruikshank, a Conrad Blackster?
