The danger of conventional wisdom.

You know those folks who keep telling you there's no such thing as a stupid question? Sadly, they're wrong.

Classic right-wing tactic - take two utterly unrelated topics and link them in a sentence, then accuse the opposition of "inconsistency".

What crap.

The sky is green, but the grass is blue.

How does that work?

Good point, Adam. You have summarised the spirit of the question: the link is in the willing or unwilling eye of the beholder.

That's right. If you're willing to pretend that two things that are obviously false are in fact true, then it isn't any more illogical to suggest that they may be related.

It's time for an Evangelical versus Hezbollah smackdown. 2 men- weapon of choice, the jet ski- to the death- caged match.

Right-wing / left- wing, how many Canadians give a dog's feces? Are we meekly following the American experience and dividing the nation?
The person's site that you linked to has linked back to you...what kind of idiocy is that? Religion has it's place...however it has no place in political discourse that affects millions of people, all of whom are of various religions or no religion. Religion does not define a person, unless they choose to allow it. Humanity should take precedence but it seems that there are precious few vocal folks railing aginst the influx of the American disease. Please, let it be over. Let the Rapture occur, let all the true believers be transported to the Eden of their choice, and let the rest of us proles live our lives in peace.

Hey, Civitatensis, you never replied to me in the comments on your blog. You know, the one where you tried to connect Iran to the Nazis because, uh, as we know the Nazis were bad and Iran is bad and it just! All! Fits! Especially the part where Iran got the Aryan designation two and a half milennia before Hitler came along. Now that's some Nazi enthusiasm!

For those who are interested in more unbelievable crap from Civitatensis, you can start with this post. You'll learn all about how Civ, because he's blogged a lot about Iran, is an expert about Iran. Quite impressive.
