I dunno. I'm getting kind of bored with both sides of the fence on this whole 'OMG he looked at a website once and now he's Stalin' guilt by association accusations. I mean, is he the founding member and setting their (hidden!!!) agenda? or is he just a clueless joiner trying to get some community exposure by getting involved without really paying attention. Not the same thing. Don't know the association, don't give a shit about Kent, but these vague accusatory outings are starting to all sound the same.
Kind of a chill on any kind of community or committee involvement - lest one of the members be an asshole in public one day all members get tarred.
Kent is on the Board of CCD, and has been their spokesman. Didn't find what I was supposed to.. but if he's been an active spokesperson then his views are public and known? Trying to figure out what the scoop is. And wondering at what point the vanillatization of our elected representatives will become complete. Don't join a club. Don't comment on events like 9/11. Don't inhale. Don't Don't Don't Don't
Sigh. OK. Who's next on the witch hunt list. C'mon. Somebody on the left musta made a polack joke once. Lemme at 'em.
Former journalist and Conservative candidate Peter Kent spoke to the crowd as a representative of the non-profit group Canadian Coalition for Democracies (CCD):
In Toronto, demonstrators waved Danish flags and carried signs with messages about the importance of free expression.
One sign read "All We Are Saying is Give Speech a Chance" while another read "Freedom Rings Whenever Opinions Clash."
Former broadcast journalist and Conservative candidate Peter Kent spoke the rally as a representative of the non-profit group Canadian Coalition for Democracies (CCD).
"Any democracy worth its salt should be strong enough to endure the most controversial speech," Kent said.
This is a pretty freaky group. Hughes, on the other hand, just held one freaky opinion. Fair's fair.
I merely posted the quote to show Kent's involvement with CCD. Meanwhile Buckets wnadered over to my joint to remind me that CCD signed that famous "42 organizations" complaint to get Beverley McLachlin fired over the Morgentaler OOC award.
I said "freaky" and I'll stick to that. CCD seems to be riding off in all directions, and none of them lead anywhere I'd want to visit.
Luc Schulz is giving 10:1 odds that McCain wins the US election on his blog (on Blogging Tories blogroll). When someone clearly doesn't understand probability, we would be remiss if we didn't take him up on the offer. With polls looking evenly split, I would never consider this with 2:1 or 3:1 odds, but 10:1 is just tooooo sweeet to pass up.
One day, an American walks into a bar, and hits a Newfie over the head, saying “That’s a karate chop from Japan.”
The next day, the same American does it again to the same Newfie, saying “That’s a Tea Kwon Do chop from Korea.”
On the third day, he does it again, saying “That’s a Kung Fu chop from China.”
The next day, the Newfie isn’t there, so the American sits down and orders a drink. All of a sudden, there is a large WHACK!! And as the American is slumping over on the floor, the Newfie’s voice could be heard saying, “That is a crowbar from Canadian Tire.”

Anti-Kentite.

Haha - Sheena loves Peter Kent!
But I posted a recipe for Newfie Head Pie once. You only needed balsa wood clubs to get started, too.

Oh, well. If their policy is Fuck the Danes, I'm so-o-o-o there. FCS cheese sandwiches my ass.
Or wait. Is that the Dutch. I always get those two mixed up.
Pffttt... and don't get me started on 'freaky groups', Dawg...
God, sooey. I haven't had me a piece of Newfie Head pie in well over a year. Sigh.
Is it poor table manners to hold the Newfie heads up by the ears?
One does not hold Newfie heads up by the ears at the table...
(I'll explain it to you later, Lulu)
I must confess, I've never heard of Newfie head pie before ... it sounds a touch dirrrrrty.
A touch. It goes down easy, that's for sure, lulu. Except you're stupid an hour later.
Hmmm. I have nothing to say about Newfie Head.

I suppose this means I can't run for Trustee now. Not in... well... whatever the name of a city in Newfoundland is.
Excuse me, Dr. Dawg, but it's Newfie Head PIE. I should have been more clear.
D'oh...
But Muslim-bashing and Morgentaler-bashing kind of go hand-in-hand these days, I've noticed. (I'm talking about Peter Kent now, not Newfie Head PIE.)

Heh ;-)
Mmmmm. Pie.
Just thought I'd inform as many people as I know:
