"We won! OK, we're winning ... um, it's winnable ... hang on ..."

You know things are getting desperate when the handlers parade Commander Chimpy in front of the media for a second straight day. Maybe they'd like him to translate the following:

Bush said that despite setbacks, "Not only can we win the war in Iraq - we are winning the war in Iraq."

So, it's not like it's "mission accomplished". But it's not unwinnable. It's some vague place in between. Read the entire article and just shake your head at the unbelievable incompetence of this group of clowns.

For me the defining moment came when Bush again interjected Saddam's name in place of Bin Laden. Even if this were in error, which I doubt it was, what kind of a signal does it send the world that the "leader of the free world" cannot keep his terrorists straight.

As to the general tone of the speeches, there is very little of substance there. Conjecture, lies, and cover-ups. Notice how the man cannot simply answer a question without spinning some ridiculous talking point?

Also, I noticed that his facial ticks (blinking and jaw movements - indicative of years of cocaine abuse) were much more prevalent today. When a question was asked that he must have interpreted as difficult, his blinking and jaw adjustments were aflutter. Not a reassuring performance to be sure.
