That logical disconnect from reality.

On the one hand, you have your typical, deluded, American, right-wing, dumbass motherfucker (not to be confused with Brian Lemon, who is Canadian):

Walberg defends statement that parts of Iraq as safe as Detroit

DETROIT (AP) -- A first-term congressman from Michigan is defending statements he made comparing parts of Iraq to Detroit and Harvey, Ill.

Rep. Tim Walberg, R-Tipton, said Thursday that Detroit and Harvey, just outside Chicago, were just two examples of communities where safety and city services are comparable to 80 percent to 85 percent of Iraq.

Walberg said on Detroit radio station WJR that U.S. troops in Iraq tell him the military is achieving successes.

And then you have the real deal:

The aging war hawk [John McCain], proving that security is returning to Baghdad by walking into a market encased in body armor, surrounded by rooftop sharpshooters and enveloped in a [shield] of a hundred soldiers, helicopters (Blackhawks), helicopter gunships (Apaches) and all after another group of soldiers went in for a pre-jaunt security sweep which, in the words of Larry Johnson, "searched for explosives, sent informants into the crowd, set up a perimeter, and secured the area before the Senators showed up with their 100 armed guards."

There's a reason they call us the "reality-based community." Really. Think about it -- it'll come to you.
