Another Victory For The Nutroots
The Nevada Democratic Party had agreed to a debate in August between Democratic presidential candidates - hosted by Fox.
But the socialist, Web-addicted wing of the Democratic Party was apoplectic. The prospect of having to watch Fox News to see their own candidates would have been torture in itself. So they set the blogosphere aflame with efforts to kill the broadcast arrangement, or at least have all the candidates pull out of the event. Before Friday, the opportunistic John Edwards was the only candidate to jump on that bandwagon.
You'd think the deal called for having Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter mock the candidates between comments. No, even unfiltered, unedited, live debate between loyal Democrats couldn't be entrusted to Fox News.
The approach of outfits such as MoveOn.org is so juvenile it's laughable. Imagine if every political organization created litmus tests for news organizations before agreeing to appear on their programming. Republicans would have boycotted PBS, CBS, NBC, ABC, National Public Radio and The Associated Press decades ago.
Faster please!
Why, yes, Kate, and let's carefully avoid mentioning why the Dems were so thoroughly pissed with Fox, shall we?
Roger Ailes Jokes About Obama as Terrorist
This is a rather extraordinary speech that Roger Ailes gave last night. He's clearly very frustrated with the organizing against Fox News. But let's start out with his jokes.
A man in France was arrested today for using his car to run down a pedestrian. He said he thought it was Osama bin Laden. Ok, it was a mistake, but it still ranks as France's biggest military victory ever....

It is true that I said Britney Spears looked great at the Academy Awards. and I later found out it was Jack Nicholson.

It is true that just in the last two weeks Hillary Clinton has had over 200 phone calls telling her in order to win the presidency she must stay on the road for the next two years. It is not true they were all from Bill.

And it is true that Barack Obama is on the move. I don't know if it's true that President Bush called Musharraf and said, 'Why can't we catch this guy?'
Bill Clinton cheats on his wife, France is weak, and Obama is a terrorist. Ha ha ha. Ailes is clearly upset that his brand is being ruined and Democrats are catching on.
Keep in mind that it's insufferable, right-wing assholes like Kate McMillan who love to tell the rest of us how, you know, "actions have consequences," and who were practically creaming themselves with delight over the pounding Robert McClelland took for what he wrote.
And yet, apparently mealy-mouthed, conservative gasbags like Fox's Roger Ailes should receive a free pass for being that demeaning.
Man, it must be nice to live in that kind of universe.
BONUS SNARK AT NO EXTRA CHARGE: There is just so much hypocrisy oozing out of Kate on this post, but it's definitely entertaining to hear her jump all over a Web-driven campaign to influence politics.
After all, it wasn't that long ago that Canada's right-wing loons were heavily involved in (you guessed it) a "blogburst" to influence the Harper government to defund Status of Women Canada. Why, even batshit-crazy Kate was crowing about it here. (Disclaimer: I can't actually read that page at SDA since Kate has apparently blocked me from reading even through freeproxy. A profile in courage, she isn't. Referring to her as a gutless coward would be, I fear, an insult to gutless cowards everywhere.)
So, to recap, conservatives using the power of the Web for a blogburst to influence politics and strip vulnerable Canadian women of funding is just ducky, while liberals using the power of the Web to politically boycott a laughably dishonest TV network is "juvenile" and makes them all part of the "nutroots".
Yeah, that makes sense. In Kate's screeching, advanced intellectual dementia, anyway.

Kate is so deeply propagandised by the American right that she has lost all ability to communicate her own thoughts. I suspect she doesn't even know what country she's living in anymore.
Of course, I've always been willing to concede that she's just simply a liar and a propagandist or alternately, just very un-schooled.
Whichever she finds more charitable is up to her to decide.

well, profiles in courage continue. seems that by some default setting on the paranoia dial, i too am blocked from small dead souls. and since i've never commented there that i can recall and have only ever visited the dung swamp a few times, well, i'm hurt. or not. what a sad, cowardly lot. imagine having less guts to face criticism than anonalog.

Is she ever loopy. She acts as if she's holding a sophisticated, socratic debate over at her site which cannot be sullied by traffic from riff-raff who point out her appalling dishonesty, but the only commenters I see there lately are people even loopier than she is.
