PTBC's Joel Johannesen:
Ignorant, naive Canada still thinks it’s special
Posted by Joel Johannesen
Perhaps it’s because Canada is so used to living under the comfy warm blanket of America and their realistic level of defensive security protection and their willingness to defend not just themselves, but apparently most of the world including Canada. (Does the U.S. send Canada a multi-billion-dollar bill every year? It should.) Or maybe we’re just all drunk. Perhaps drunk on that yummy “progressive” blather and liberalism and its self-gratifying ignorance.
Can someone explain why anyone who runs a blog called "Proud to be Canadian" insists on perpetually describing that very Canada as some sort of international, free-loading, "ignorant", "naive" parasite?
I'm just curious.

Does that lunatic have any neighbours who'd be able to explain exactly how screwballish he is, or does he in fact never leave the house?
Or...more darkly...is he the type who, to everyone around him, always seemed like a very nice, normal guy, until that faithful day he climbed the steps of the university tower and...
Seems as if he has bought the right-wing American mantra that we Canadians are cry-baby wimps completely dependent upon our armed & ready kick-ass neighbor to protect our drugged-out, terrorist-loving, socialists' souls.
Jo-Jo is a diaper load. I wish he would pack off rightwing religous nutbad family and move the Fuck to the USA and stay there.
The guy is a complete fuck retard and hates Canada with every fibre of his being.

I think it might be because he's a complete asshole. Or maybe a fuck retard, as Zorph suggests.
i think i need to borrow zorph's pressure washer. i just visited proud to be a fuckwit. i made the near fatal error of reading a couple of articles available there by dr. mike adams, tenured psychotic. in joltin' joel's defense i'm sure he loves canada. love is hate. war is peace. and looking at his columnist section, if anybody was guilty by association, well...coulter, adams & giles? what an ugly association to be guilty by.
mind you, in the middle of jj's endless hate rant about canada was this,
"Or sucking up to Quebec at any cost whatsoever on a now seemingly permanent, infinite basis. "
yeah. that fucking harper and those stinking cons, buying off the rotten quebeckers. with our good canadian money. what a twerp.
joel, load up the minivan of righteousness and head south. there's a useful idiot shortage down in the great sacred bowels of murrica.
So just what is it that we have always relied on the USA to protect us from? Last time I looked at a history book the only nation that ever tried to invade us was the United States. And don't start on the Cold War -- If anything, they owed us a few years of help for protecting them from the Nazis from 1939 to 1942 and besides, the Russians knew better than to try to invade a country as cold as their own. The only reason for anyone to attack Canada would be to come at the USA through us. So the idea that they are protecting us from the evildoers and bad guys and enemies of the US is a fairly large steaming pile.
I suppose it hasn't occurred to this yutz that maybe the reason we haven't felt the need to bankrupt our country by arming ourselves to the teeth is that we haven't spent the last 50 years or so PISSING PEOPLE OFF!
The greatest danger Canadians face today is being mistaken for Americans.

We'll never know. But whatever it is, we have to be eternally grateful for it, and show proper deference...otherwise, the Americans will let Iceland invade us, kill our leaders and put us all in concentration camps. And it will serve us right, for being so snotty and impertinent and morally superior.
You know what that is, eh? It's a threat. I don't care so much when loonies like Joel (or the loonies in the American media) make it, but I heard Barbara McDougall (foreign affairs minister under Reagan-worshipping Mulroney) saying pretty much the same thing the other night on TVO's The Agenda and it just elicites the same response with me as with any other threat: Drop dead, don't do me any favours and who asked them to protect us anyway? In our entire history, they never have.
I'll take my chances with the invading hordes, thank you very much.
