A lawyery question, if you will.

What happens when you express contrition in order to get the charges against you stayed, only to subsequently insist that all that remorse was a pile of horseshit?

At its discretion, the Crown can restart the proceeding within 1 year of the date of the stay. After that, the charges become null and void.

Carpay's already lost the right to practice in MB. His defiance in the face of a serious legal charge should interest the AB law society. Nah, what am I saying, it's AB.

What will happen is that Carpay's tax deductible donations will continue rolling in. It's all about the Bordens.

At the Law Society hearing, did he express contrition "under oath"?
