Yeah, about that civility in discourse, Joel ...

And via AmericaBlog, we learn that Ann Coulter is still being Ann Coulter. First, presidential candidate John Edwards is still a "faggot":

On the heels of her well publicized John Edwards quip—that both seem to be taking advantage of, there’s more Ann Coulter shock-and-awe. At a conference in Ft. Lauderdale over the weekend at the Center for Reclaiming America, which is connected to TV preacher James Kennedy’s Coral Ridge Ministries, Coulter reiterated her John Edwards description ...

Then we learn that those murdered abortion providers apparently had it coming to them:

Earlier in her remarks, Coulter noted that seven doctors and clinic personnel had been killed, saying, "Those few abortionists were shot, or, depending on your point of view, had a procedure with a rifle performed on them. I'm not justifying it, but I do understand how it happened....

But mostly we learned that there's no one so offensive or uncivil that Joel Johannesen won't continue to promote them and sell their books on his blog. Because, well, that's just the kind of hypocritical, weaselly little ratfuck Joel is.

P.S. That last comment is not hate speech; it's a scientific observation. There's a difference.

But...but...but...it's all joking right? That's what she says...and her supporters say. Constantly. Lefties have no sense of humour. But apparently those who support Bush do.

Was talking to someone orginating in California online the other night. Someone who drank the Republican kool-aid but up to the last election was reasonable.

We were discussing Canadian humour. And out of nowhere I got an effusive "and you have Mark Steyn up there! He's hilarious!" I was referred to Steyn's latest column 'eviscerating Gore' ...the one about Gore's house, poohpoohing any defense that Gore was offsetting and buying green.

I just gaped at the screen, because the other party was dead sincere about how funny this guy is. I pointed out Steyn produces for the US market and works with US topics and therefore wasn't on my radar, then changed the subject because there was nothing I could say that would lead anywhere productive.
