Shorter Right Girl: "When Muslims do terrible things in the name of Islam, that's because Islam is a religion of hate and death. When Christians do terrible things in the name of Christianity ... hey, how 'bout them Raptors?"
AFTERSNARK: It just has to hurt when a convenient talking point bites the big one (emphasis added):
At a time when the Middle East's only democracy is at war for its very survival, bombs are being lobbed from both sides daily, random Muslims are shooting up Jewish community centers full of women ...
I'm sorry ... come again:
Suspect in Jewish Federation shootings recently baptized
Naveed Haq, now widely portrayed as a Muslim American so angry at Israel that he shot up a Jewish charity in Seattle, had recently converted to Christianity...
Last winter, Haq began attending a weekly men's group meeting at the home of a men's ministry leader with the Word of Faith Center, a non-denominational, evangelical church in Kennewick.
The group's leader, Albert Montelongo, said Haq started studying the Bible. In December, he was baptized by Montelongo. The ceremony brought tears to Haq's eyes, Montelongo said.
I'm guessing the story line is going to be that that baptism just didn't quite take. Bummer, that.

Oh, come on. You know they're going to claim the following:
a/Muslim infiltrating Christian ranks to look less suspicious.
b/crazy ass Muslim who wasn't really serious about converting to Christianity because he's crazy ass and showed his true colours at provocation by the Islamist secret cabal powers.
Easy to 'splain. The fact that the guy is one of the mentally unstable in society who appears to have been looking for spiritual guidance via more than one belief avenue to settle himself and got triggered by...something we're not privy to understand...
Well, that says more about gun control than anything. The event that seems to be getting dredged up now as a "crazy muslim" killing civilians in a terrorist attack example is the Marc Lepin event. What with his 'real' name being Gamil and all. Except, a name does not make religion. Did his mother the former nun marry a Muslim? Or are the right wing blogulls just shitting on anyone with a non-euro mediterranean name?
Niles : Rabbi Ornstein was on either CBC or CTV (sorry, forget which, I wonder why?) before the big pro-Israel rally in Vancouver last night dropping dark hints about "Islamic sleeper agents" being woken up.
