The joys of ethical relativism.

From Canada's own Deranged Catholic Kathy Shaidle, posting over at SDA (a double wingnut whammy), we have:

News flash: Michael Moore fudges the truth

The real kicker: the new expose of Moore's questionable methods was made by two progressive Canadians and former fans.

Oh, no! That's awful! That someone would deliberately misrepresent the ... uh, the ... uh ... hang on, what's this?

Another week, another string of cheap political attacks from Stephen Harper, who sounds less prime ministerial with every passing day.

After savaging Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion with attack ads that suggest he is a "traitor," Harper continued this past week to play fast and loose with the facts, levelling baseless patronage charges against two Liberal Members of Parliament.

In debate over changes to the Immigration and Refugee Board, Harper accused MP Marlene Jennings of putting her spouse on the board and Lucienne Robillard, a former immigration minister, of appointing her ex-spouse. If true, these would be serious breaches of ethics.

But Robillard's husband was appointed to the board in 1990 under a former Conservative prime minister, Brian Mulroney. And Jennings' husband joined the board before she was even elected to Parliament.

Stay tuned as this glaring example of political dishonesty is, naturally, ignored by Canada's wankersphere.

SMA is comprised of rather dead-eyed, or should I say naval gazing folks who only look at what advances their agenda. RE the Michael Moore situation, both husband and wife filmmakers stated "But they insist they should not be confused with those who want to damage Moore." In looking past the rhetoric by two filmmakers who are disappointed by an inability to get an interview (and one can only imagine their methods), one must also look at the subject of their disappointment. Moore has received numerous death threats, has been subjected to terrible intrusions on his and his family's personal space and safety. He has had to hire personal bodyguards. Is it any wonder that his people want to protect him? I am not a fan of Moore by the way, however, what happened is no more that what I would have done in similar circumstances, considering the outrageous, and scurrilous threats against him, in conjunction with murderous attacks by anti-abortionists on Doctors etc.

Stephen Harper's subversive assaults on the justice system, the refugee board etc. will go unnoticed by these people because he has become their saviour - a way to become relevant in a society that has progressed far beyond their ability to keep up - hence their desire to take us back to when they think they held sway. Little do they realize that Stephen has no more thought for them - other than their vote, than he does for the driver of the local bus he doesn't take. My only fear is that Harper, by recycling many of the Liberal and NDP programs, is gaining popularity in mainstream Canada - See Chantal Hebert's new book - and may pull off a majority government.
If there is a God who upholds justice, if Jesus is actually the man documented in the gospels (not Pauls drivel), please, may they help us, because this country is in peril. BTW, I used to be a conservative voter - Peter McDog has a lot to answer for in my own humble opinion and may he rot in an eternal hell of his own making.
