Standard Alberta conservative thinking: “If you don’t look, it isn’t a problem”.
That mentality took hold back in the days of the outbreaks of Mad Cow Disease in Klein’s era, when he famously said “we should just shoot, shovel, and shut up” after Alberta found its beef exports severely curtailed by the outbreaks.
Alberta conservatism ever since has taken a “don’t look at any problem seriously - especially if that problem might affect the oil patch” approach.
Patrick has fallen right in line with the wilful ignorance that entails, and he’s adopting the same sneering DARVO approach that the UCP’s more noxious supporters started with. Should we be surprised?

You'd better hope this deadbeat doesn't go out and get COVID out of pure stupidity and die. It might make collecting what he owes difficult.
Glorified flu.
