That subtle distinction in perspective.

Leftosphere: "You know, this recent arrest of numerous terrorism suspects has some odd properties, which should lead people to wonder about some of the underlying investigation, including perhaps whether there might have been political motivations and ..."

Rightosphere: "OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD THE ISLAMOJIHADOFASCISTS ARE HERE AND 9/11 CHANGED EVERYTHING AND THEY'RE GOING TO KILL US ALL AND WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE OHMIGOD OHMIGOD OHMIGOD!!!!!"

The rightosphere: taking unthinking, slobbering hysteria and cranking it up to 11.

I was hearing comments on the radio today like lets declare war on Afghanistan so we can execute these traitors(yeah, let's execute 5 kids nder 18), and we need Christianity back in the schools to defend against this war of religions. What's the plan, unglued Canadians will give Harper a majority?

And they thought they had something to work with when it was just smoking up the john at a Tim Horton's.....

Can you expect anything BUT complete gabbling hysterical ecstasy now? Not sure how they can type with their eyes rolled back in their heads like that...

Pants-wetting bigots, the lot of the them. If a single group of people in our nation can be counted on to over-react in a negative way, it is the nativist rightwingers on the net and talk radio

Truly amazing. Of course there's some hidden agenda, behind the timing of the release of this one specific case. This is case number 'lucky 13'! It is the final justification about the tremendous weight of being disenfranchised youth in a large and uncaring place like Toronto. Not enough basketball-ball courts, would be the number one contributing factor to the problem.

Oddly enough, this specific investigation was started some two years ago, under Paul Martin's Government. Could this mean that many within the LPC were also looking to cozy up to the Bushians? Possibly as a way to mis-direct attention from Adscam and Sponsorgate and Shawinigate. Ann McLellan sure looked Fishy when interviewed about this very thing, recently.

Of course, there's always the issue of co-ordinated police entrapment. I mean, how tough is it to slip three tons of fertilizer into someone's back pocket to frame them? Just as easy as a crooked cop slipping a switch-blade, a joint, a crack-pipe or a Glock into some dupes pocket, I would surmise.

And about the two fine citizens of this lot, that were already incarcerated? Might their convictions for gun-smuggling, and not registering the rifles, not have stemmed from one of the previous twelve cases? They were porbably smuggling the guns in to Canada from the US, no doubt for the benefit of some charitable organization to use at a fund-raising target-shooting contest.

The part that really got to me was that one of the defence lawyers, was throwing accelerant on the embers, with his prejuidicial grandstanding disclosures of the supposed allegations. He's not even middle-eastern. Should be decent grounds for a mis-trial, if it ever gets to that, or an appeal, if convicted.

Lots of hatred on this site. Hoo-eeee. I just love it!!

Tango Juliette, apparently attempting sarcasm and failing spectacularly, blathers:

Why, yes, that must have been it, as every single Progressive Blogger I'm aware of has already claimed. Why, there's ... no, he never made such a claim.

Oh, I know, there's her ... um, no, actually, she never said anything of the sort, either. Funny, I can't find a single Progressive Blogger who made such a suggestion.

No matter. As we all know, it's not what any of them actually said that's important. It's just that you might be able to imagine them potentially saying such a thing and, as we know, that's all that really matters.

Your right CC... you've highlighted both the extreme reactions of the left and the right. (though I don't know why you chose me as your example, I'm certainly not on the extreme side...)

So, where's a middle road? Is there one to be found?

Scout, your "hero" has posted on her site: "Turtle Island (North America) will be liberated.

Kahentineta Horn has filed in U.S. and Canadian courts for Native sovereignty.

Ms. Horn is also charging the Queen of England with genocide.

This site is decidated to bringing you the legal proof that North America is indeed, Native Land."

Guess you advocate the wholesale pack-up and relocation of 350 million people? Guess I should be glad I was born in England... at least I have a passport and somewhere to go...

So ... you have the Right-o-sphere shrieking "Terrorists! We're all gonna die!" And, conversely, you have the Left-o-sphere saying, "Hang on, let's see what's really happening here."

And this is what you see as equally extreme views? Who is your crack dealer?
