As Jon Stewart might say: Awwwwwwkward.

Sigh. I'm sure it's none of my business, but would it be possible for the Liberals to choose a new leader who hasn't slept with the current Conservative Deputy Leader?

I'm going to take you task a bit on this one, CC.

Why is it that when the candidate is a woman, her sex life almost immediately becomes a topic of discourse? (and even more frequently, gets used in a denigrating way as a weapon against her).

I would point out that the "successor du jour" for the CPC has similarly slept with a high profile Liberal MP.

So what?

What is it in our society that makes people believe that a woman's sex life is relevant to her ability to do a job, but we don't apply the same measure to men?

(I'm not convinced that Stronach would be a good leader - but that's another conversation)

I think CC would point this out if the sexes were reversed.

There was a rumour that BelindaMac got together one day in Toronto last summer. That's _After_ they broke up.

Because of that, I wonder if Mackay's sad dog eyes won't be feasting on the site of Belinda when the House opens next month.

I would also agree with grog on this one. Now don't get me wrong here, I think Belinda is a silly human being (remember the whole "I am going to speak to you from the heart" speech, that she then proceeded to read from her cue cards) and I would vote for s-harp over her (okay, okay, I don't really mean that) however, whether or not she banged old Mac should not really not be the focal point of critique. Would it not be better to focus on the fact that she is a poor sport and crossed the floor because the conservates wouldn't make her the leader? And NOW she has the audacity to expect the liberals to? Who runs for the leadership of a party after they've been a member of it for less than a year? After running for the leadership of the opposing party? And the fact that she is completely incapable of speaking the 'other' official language? what about the fact that she lasted for ONE YEAR in post secondary education?

I understand the need to be interested in her sex life, primarily because she's pretty hot, and it is a lot more interesting to focus on than say, S-Harp's boring missionary with his wife, but there is so much more juicy stuff with which to mock Belinda.

I don't know guys, I think Parliament is ripe for a good sex scandal. I'm looking forward to soap opera drama during question period.
