Canada coming through in the crunch.
Current Canadian pledge for tsunami relief: $40 million.
Current U.S. pledge so far: $35 million.
Canada showing their neighbours to the south how it's done. Numerous annoying Americans respond with, "Well, yeah, but with the exchange rate ..."

Hmmm, let's see...the US population is somewhere near 300,000,000 people and Canada is in and around 30,00,000 at last count. Factor in the exchange rate and such and gee, the $350,000,000 the US just coughed up now matches Canada's contribution on a per capita basis. Maybe THAT is why when one compares US$35M to C$40M one side looks a little stingy.
Do they not teach math down there anymore?
Plug the following phrase into Google then get back to me.
"per capita basis"
Cretin.
Population difference 260 mil vs 36mil? Dp th emath
