Way to go, California.
You may have enshrined hatred and bigotry into your state constitution with the successful passage of Prop 8, but you’ve also ensured that farm animals now have roomier cages while they await their trip to the slaughterhouse by approving Prop 2. Thus proving once and for all to this girl that humanity truly is doomed by its own precious fucking stupidity.
You rock. No, really.

And it's not like marriage isn't a completely unnecessary and made up institution, anyway. Gawd. People are such dogs-in-the-manger.

Remember, California is really two or three separate countries, one first-world, one third-world and one 19th century.
I think there may have been a bit of a mix-up here. What they meant was roomier cages for teh gay and marriage licences for farm animals.
If the religious zealots had devoted as much money, fanaticism and hatred to manipulate the public against Prop 2 as they did in favour of Prop 8 you can bet the animals would have made no gains, as small as they were.
As wrong and evil as Prop 8 is, there is nothing stupid about ensuring a more 'humane' environment for animals that are being raised for slaughter for people to eat. Please don't direct your anger at the animals, they suffer enough already. And there is zero hope of a constitutional challenge to ever alleviate their misery, so this is as good as it gets for them.
