If you can't say anything remotely intelligent, best just to shut the hell up. A good strategy for K-W's newest MP, ignorant dingbat and bigot Harold Albrecht:
The right to remain silent is not normally invoked by candidates running for public office, but Harold Albrecht said that was part of his successful strategy to help himself and the Conservatives win the federal election.
Now the MP for Kitchener-Conestoga, Mr. Albrecht was one of a handful of Conservative candidates who were accused of avoiding the news media during the election campaign because of their strong views on social issues.
I love it when being an anti-gay bigot is described as having "strong views on social issues." Maybe like how Robert Pickton has strong views on prostitution, or how Kate McMillan has strong views on race relations.
Sadly for Canada, now that Albrecht's been elected, he's probably going to start talking again. Reporters, start your notepads.

I understand your point here, but I just don't think using Robert Pickton as a comparison to these folks is in good taste.
maybe I'm being too sensitive, but I just can't imagine what hell all those women went through at his hands.
I don't know that the Pickton analogy is necessarily all that far off.
Gay Bar Attack
Considering some of what is done to people because of their sexual orientation, it's not that far removed, is it?
(The example is over the top perhaps, but not entirely invalid either - there's a lot of people that figure "it's okay to kill a queer" - morally no better than the crimes Mr. Pickton is accused of)
