Get your (civil) war on.
And so it begins. Luckily, none of this will be the fault of the Bush administration, given those wonderfully convenient recent elections that will make it possible to dump all of the blame back in the lap of the Iraqis.
What luck, eh?

Why doesn't the US put a "muslim proof fence" down the middle of Iraq and give the Sunni one half and the Shiite the other half? It would be no less arbitrary than the "country" of Iraq's borders are now.
Jeff, (if you can read this), the Conservative Party of Canada gathered 26% of the total available vote in the last election. They don't deserve to be a political party.
OK... analogies aside...
I fought in what is commonly known as Gulf War I, although it was actually Gulf War II, unless you were an older British soldier and then it was Gulf War III.
Nevertheless, I was present when this great big general said, "We've got to get this done. If we have to go all the way to Baghdad we'll still be there 10 years from now trying to figure out what the fuck happened and why we're standing between two sides in a civil war."
Norman was a nasty sonfoabitch, but at least he listened.
Storm'in Norm'in was about the only US General that had the brass and balls to call it for what it was. I did notice that during the per Gulf War II media spin the Whitehouse never consult with Storm'in and the media never went to hear what he had to say. Although a few did interview him and what he had to say about Bush's plan was is like reading today's news back in fall of 2002
