Mea wanker culpa? I don't think so.

None dare call it "accountability":

And that should come as no surprise. After all, if I'd predicted something this jaw-droppingly moronic, I'd be a bit touchy about people bringing it up again and whacking me in the nads with it over and over and over and over and over.

Accountability: it's only for progressives.

FORESHADOWING
: More coming here soon ...

SPANKING THE RETARD: This is going to drive poor LuLu bugfuck since she's the one who is constantly begging me, "Don't poke the retard," but there is a lesson to be learned here, so pay attention -- it's why we on Not-Batshit-Crazy Planet find it so utterly unproductive to argue with the residents of Idiotville. This story is not just about one idiot -- it should be used as a lesson in recognizing the deranged craziness of, well, deranged crazy people. And so, to work.

It begins here, where my esteemed co-blogger PSA opines as follows:

Canada is now likely to record a budgetary deficit for the first time in over ten years.

Hold on ... what was that again?

Canada is now likely to record a budgetary deficit for the first time in over ten years.

One more time, to make sure there's no misunderstanding:

Canada is now likely to record a budgetary deficit for the first time in over ten years.

Now, what exactly is happening here? What's happening is that PSA -- as all sane people will recognize because they're, you know, sane -- is making a prediction. He's not claiming what is happening right now; no, he is prognosticating what will happen in the future, that interpretation being kind of obvious by his choice of words, "is now likely to record." Did you catch that? No, really, who among you is too much of a mental cripple to notice that we're dealing with future tense? Seriously, let's not go any further until we're all good with that. You good with that? Excellent. Movin' on.

Add to this now a moderately important observation -- PSA was right. He was eventually proven correct. That's important to remember, too, for what comes next, because what comes next is just all kinds of awesome.

So now we ask -- what would an abysmally stupid person's reaction be to PSA's prediction? Well, it's hard to say since you can't really praise or condemn someone's prediction until time has passed. So, technically, when someone makes a prediction, the best you can do is say, "Well, let's just wait and see." Really, what other avenue is there?

Actually, one other avenue is, if you're the Mullet that Walks Like a Man, to go totally, batshit fucking crazy with rage and make the world's biggest asshole of yourself, as you can read from these carefully-chosen excerpts from the comments section of that post. (And, as you read these snippets, keep firmly in mind that PSA's prediction was right):

Let's move those goalposts, baby... MOVE 'EM! ...

You posted this particular turd ...

Which is really my favourite thing about you: no matter how wrong you're proven to be, no matter how dishonest, somehow, in your mind, it always has to be the other person who's stupid and dishonest.

And maybe among your fellow hateful blinkering ideologues that holds water. But to the rest of us -- you know, people who actually use their brains as something other than what we use to keep our skulls from collapsing -- we'll always recognize you for precisely what you are.

Just another hateful demagogue...

... you weren't "correct". You were wrong, wrong, wrong. Anyone with a shread [sic] of honesty would be embarrassed to be quite this wrong...

Becuase [sic] that's how you fucking budget, moron.

Go back and soak in the shrieking, bowel-emptying rage directed against someone who turned out to be completely correct. Is that awesome or what? Seriously, is that not just the most fantastic example of cocking the trigger and blowing off both of your feet and one of your nads with one shot? God, but it's delightful -- the ongoing (to this day, in fact) fury venting against someone who was dead-on right.

And yet ... and yet ... when history has proven PSA right and Twatsy about $50 billion worth of hideously fucking wrong, what happens when Twatsy is called on it? What happens when someone has the effrontery to point out that Twatsy fucked up spectacularly? Oh, sweet Jesus, look at the indifference from the mulleted one:

That's right. While stupid fucking Twatsy drooled and screeched and fumed and vented insanely against someone who turned out to be right, his reaction to being hauled out and spanked in public for being howlingly wrong is simply, "Hey, let's not revisit the past, not interested, moving on."

And that, kids, is why no one here takes idiots like Twatsy seriously. Him and the weaselly douchebags that make up Stephen Taylor's stable of ignorant racists and intellectual sacks of sand over at the Blogging Tories. These are not people who are capable of actual discourse, and there's little point arguing whether they're hopelessly stupid or cripplingly dishonest because, in the end, does it really make any difference? Hmmmmmmm?

And now I'll go check if the New York Times has linked here again. They're good about that.

DEAR HR FOLKS: Just in case Twatsy ever applies for a job with you, and Google drops you somewhere in the vicinity, for the love of God, drop me an e-mail. We will have the most spectacularly entertaining conversation you can possibly imagine.

DEAR GOOGLE: Patrick Ross ... dumbass retard ... physically violent ... obsessive stalker ... restraining order.

Yeah, that should do it for now.

Yeah, this is the point in the story where I am reminded, again, why it's not worth the time and effort to engage him intellectually.

No joke. It's particularly a waste of time doing it over at Twatsy's place because you're investing all that time and effort for an audience of two -- Twatsy and his sock puppet "mahmood," who I've been told privately is, in fact, Twatsy himself, using the "mahmood" persona simply to make it look like he has a supporter.

That's freakin' hysterical. Twatsy's so unpopular and unreadable, he has to invent his own readership. That's just sad.

By the way, you have to love Twatsy's version of the passive voice in referring to "the mistaken predictions of the past."

Those would, of course, be his mistaken predictions. But let's not quibble over details, right?

Sparky said...

Yep--he's just not interested in that--in correcting his own wrong record in order to go on. He'd just prefer we ignore his previous blatant wrongness and 'deal substantively' with the issues now.
Yeah, I'd like in on that game as well--"Hello Lotto 649? I know I picked all the wrong numbers for last Friday's draw but I have the right numbers now--give me my money!"

I found a US conterpart to Patrick--
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2008/10/27/whelan/

in which we read

Greenwald is understandably snarky in his report. Nonetheless you'd think Whelan, as a seeker after truth, would be grateful at least for the information. Instead, he flips out . . . He also calls Greenwald "unhinged."

Like juvenile delinquents, these people have been shielded from the consequences of their actions for so long that when correction comes, they take it pathetically hard.

and the punchline--

When your worldview is grounded in the belief that everything is stacked against you and nothing is your fault -- the flagship view of the right-wing faction dominating the GOP -- then spouting accusations without any concern for truth is a natural behavior

Sounds just like Patrick

And one more small point...
I am always appreciative of the little text blurbs at MyBlahg. This one is particuarly apropos (neo, dictionary, yadda yadda)--

The GOP has mastered an error condition in the political process, an infinite loop of abstraction that drains all meaning from political speech. They don't have to focus on meaning, really, at all, they just turn up the burbling nonsense until we all descend past the noise machine event horizon into infinitely unproductive debate, never to re-emerge. This is how we progressives (rationalists?) keep ending up on the sucker side of the media war with the right: we're still using the old paradigm of meaning and they're busily deploying the equivalent of malware and DOS attacks.--The Poor Man Institute

Substitute GOP with Patrick (and sock puppets thereof).

And with that, I'm off to find a cupcake.

It was the exact same scenario regarding the boots--he based his entire arguement on his fact that the boots had triangles!!!
Triangles dammit!!! Those guys can't be cops 'cause those are triangles!!!! Yous guys are all wrong!!!!
And, months later...
"how can I be held accountable for making that observation from a blurry pic--let's not talk about it anymore..."

I really hate to spam this blogpost (but I've already started so...)
And we can bring the whole Lisa Raitt into this--Patrick is all... well, let's jsut quote that, shall we?
You posted this particular turd, suggesting that there was going to be a budgetary deficit after it's been revealled that there is no deficit. In fact, there's already a surplus through the first quarter of the fiscal year -- the very quarter of the fiscal year at which revenue receipts tend to be lowest.

Wasn't there something about shennanigans of the budgetary numbers regarding Chalk river this past week?--something discovered when an aide left 'secret' information at a television station...
Oh right, CC already blogged about it--here's an excerpt from the sun--
Further proof this is a government that doesn't let the truth get in the way of public opinion is to be found in the contents of Raitt's lost briefing book. For instance, taxpayers learn for the first time that the Harper government has pumped a staggering $1.7 billion into Atomic Energy just in the past three years -- most of it up in smoke if the Chalk River reactor remains beyond repair.

That wasn't in the 'official' budget that Patrick was going on about...

The documents openly admit the financial truth about Chalk River was deliberately hidden in the last federal budget.

Hmmm, that's interesting.

Continuing with Patrick's quotation--

Which is really my favourite thing about you: no matter how wrong you're proven to be, no matter how dishonest, somehow, in your mind, it always has to be the other person who's stupid and dishonest.

Dishonest? Hiding multi-millions of dollars that should have been in the budget, but weren't?
And you, Patrick, their cheerleader?? Condemning psa--

as it stands now, there is no deficit, and there won't be

I wonder what other budgetary ommisions there may be that we don't know about...

Patrick, I love it when your idiocy was based on a budget based on Cons lies. It's a twofer...

What dooms Twatsy's position is that he wants to argue that the photos were blurred and therefore ambiguous, yet he viciously insulted anyone who claimed that the shapes were octagons.

Think about it -- while claiming now that it was hard to discern the actual shape and therefore he shouldn't be held accountable for his monstrous fuck-up, he slagged and vilifed anyone who claimed they were octagons as an obviously stupid fucking idiot retard.

It's truly painful to beat up on that moron. I feel incredibly sorry for his mother -- no one could be so evil as to deserve that kind of punishment.

CC, it is just beyond entertaining isn't it? He's been over at my place the past few days taking dumps in my pool, then has the gall to say because no one else is swimming with him, that proves he's right.

Or something.

Poke the retard indeed. And that is an insult to retards and pointed sticks everywhere.

"dealing substantively with the crisis that has led to that deficit"

the up side is that twats is on the case. you can all relax now....

he is sooo the troll. you get that, right? he gets it wrong on purpose, just to stir things up.

Wish I could agree with you, KEvron. Yeah, yeah, I know. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again but Twatsy isn't smart or clever enough to get it wrong on purpose.
