They just got rid of John Tory, so Harper will have a place to land, looks like they're trying to do the same for Peter. They have to, since there just isn't enough wingnut welfare for all of them, and it's going to be needed before long. Even the Fraser's tax payer funded trough is pretty full, what with The Tash and other also rans in there.
1. WAIT. STOP. I thought John Tory is from Ontario.
I understand that Steverino was born in Ontario; and that Steverino is presently domiciled in Ontario. But it seems to me he came to Ottawa from Calgary West. It also seems to me that Steverino can;t win a single seat east of the Manitoba line.
Is liberal supporter trying to play with my head?
2. I told youse guys before that Afghanistan has changed some attitudes in the US Defense Department aboot the Canadian Forces. Before Afghanistan, the CF were not well regarded among professional soldiers in the US; now they are.
I'm not saying Junior would be a good choice for NATO; all I'm saying is that Americans are taking the Canadian Forces a lot more seriously these days.
Okay. The only good thing about the choice of Junior would be the message it sends to the rest of NATO: Moral support — as in sending troops to the secure areas of Afghanistan — is not an attribute of leadership.
Well then, the whole "mission" was "worth it" now that Petey can use the "respect" of the USA (for other Canadians' blood) to reward him with a prestigious post.

Whoops! I just thought of something else.
Suppose you're Junior MacKay and you're Secretary General of NATO.
What fun is it being Secretary General of NATO when your own country drops out of the only operation of any consequence NATO's got going?
Hah!
