If they had the best advertisers and the best subscribers and failed, what the heck was in their business plan? Government subsidies? Maybe it was written by a supply side blogging tory who figured the more they reduced their rates, the more money they would make.
The WS HAD no business plan. Except for the original editor (Libin), no one else had ever worked on a magazine or sold advertising. They had some investors with deep pockets and that was about it. They chased away pretty much anyone who was competent through their verbal and mental abuse. Levant et al. were/are not good people.
