It's always amusing to watch wankers unintentionally eviscerate each others' arguments. Recall, from back here, how Daimnation's Jon N thought raising the minimum wage is the worst thing you could do to those unfortunate poor people, given the allegedly fixed wage pot for those folks.
Commenter "dcardno," while apparently trying to come to Jon's defense, blows a hole in Jon's argument you could drive Adam Daifallah's ego through.
Writes dcardno:
That's nice, Adrian. At the same time, someone whose opinions actually *count* in this discussion is convinced otherwise:
"He estimates that for every 10% increase in the minimum wage, there is a 3% increase in the unemployment rate, mostly impacting youth employment."
As I'm sure the non-retarded among you will notice in short order, a 10% increase in wages, offset by a 3% increase in unemployment, most assuredly does not represent a static wage pot. In fact, it represents 1.10 * 0.97 = 1.067. or a 6.7% increase in that "wage pot" -- precisely the opposite of what Jon suggested would happen.
And remember -- these people are in charge of our federal budget. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
