Guys. Canada is sightly bigger, in terms of population, than California. That's a big market in anyone's book.
But the real market is Mexico. Sure, Mexico has a lot of peons, who are kept out of the conventional economy, but if you exclude the peons, or move them to the US, Mexico is the grand prize.
The reason we need Canada in NAFTA is to make the Mexican public feel comfortable about getting annexed.
And think about it. We get all the advantages of having Mexico but very few of the costs, since we're leaving the social costs up to the rump Mexican government. It's win-win.
I'm glad she's doing it too, because I find the whole thing exhausting. The people pushing SPP are simply not listening to anyone else, or re-interpreting what they do hear as quaint parochialism or people who hate prosperity.
