Hello? CDNBA? Best feminist blog?

I'm sorry, but how exactly is it that the CDNBA can have a "best feminist blog" category in which JJ isn't even one of the nominees? What the fuck sense does that make?

None whatsoever. Good grief.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Why yes, I am a freaking genius, thanks bunches for asking.

LOL, I just thought it was funny that they got someone with womens' studies feminist bona fides to clean out the sludge, and for whatever reason, that person decided I was part of it. HAHAHAHAHA!

Absolutely, JJ. It's not that you weren't included, it's that you were nominated but excluded.

Might as well put Raph's blog in the category now, for all it's worth.

What I find hilarious is that JJ won in two categories in the F-Word Awards as voted on by, you know, sister feminazis and their friends.

paging saskboy, time for your annual wringing of hands. cdnba, giving farce a bad name, one more time.

I'm still unhappy that they don't have a category for "Best European Heritage Pride Blog," which is where SDA rightly belongs. I think KKKate herself would agree. Kathy Shaidle needs a lifetime achievement award of course: "For dogged perseverance in an unrewarding and unrewarded quest for celebrity, which those awful bitches and bastards who are taking to long to die prevent her from attaining, over and over again."

The competition is apparently being run by bloggers who don't know how to define feminism, and vetted by a "judge" (and who says so, exactly?) whose definition of feminism is far too narrow.

JJ not a feminist? Right. And it don't rain in Vancouver, either!

Did SheenaVision make it to the finals for the Mommy Blogger category? I keep forgetting to look.

(wv = holstsp I am not sure if this is intended to appeal to my Ukie tendencies or remind me I haven't been to Holt Renfrew lately)

No, but you're a finalist for "Best Science and Tech" blog.

I think this "competition" is actually being run by the evil MSM to discredit bloggers.

Let's not beat this horse to death.

A mistake was made, and the unfortunate consequence left JJ out. For the record, I think she's a great feminist blog and quite deserving of the nomination.

Now I know it's useless me arguing about it, and I know there's no love lost between us, but this blog has been relentless in criticizing what has essentially been the volunteer efforts of Saskboy, DaniGirl, and Northern BC Dipper to bring together a multi-partisan and inclusive awards that has tried very hard to please everybody.

So we failed. We can't please everybody. Oh well.

What's this "we", white man?

Ooh. JJ's out, eh? I believe my odds of winning just increased beyond what I thought they were mere seconds ago.

But I think there should be a category for best looking Feminist blogger next year.

Then I guess it's not really your place to go around scolding people for criticising those efforts and calling them douchebags, eh?

Incidentally, I understand that your efforts this time around were an attempt to fix an obvious lapse in the previous years' awards. That's laudable and would go a long way towards rehabilitating the image of the awards. Unfortunately that one got away from you, though.

I hope you (collectively) take this as a reason and impetus to continue to improve the awards. Until you do, you'll continue to garner criticism and scorn.

And if any of Denyse's blogs even make the finals, you'll more than deserve it.

Yabbut, at least we don't have to decide between Kate and Kathy for Best Feminist Blog.

Of course, with some strategic voting by the kids, I probably could have come up the middle on that one, too.

Go, Sooey!

So fix it. Have you suddenly forgotten how to code in HTML? This obviously isn't the fucking Academy Awards. It's not exactly like you have "strict standards" or anything if you have three fucking blogs by Denyse O'Leary in the goddamn science category!

Go back there and add her in, you twit.

i just checked, evidently raphael is one of the "diverse" bloggers operating this year's awards. well i guess that ensures that the homophobes, bigots and anti-feminist voices are represented. cdnba the national online credibility vacuum.

LuLu said...

Oh, for fuck's sake ... Raphael? Seriously?

Doesn't that just scream "Fair and Balanced", boys and girls.

Seriously guys, it's just funny, that's all. The CBA admins had to set up some pretty stringent guidelines for the category and I didn't make the cut, that's the way it goes.

I've enrolled in a Womens' Studies course, so I'll be ready for next year. (I may change the face of Womens' Studies forever. Or at least shave its legs.)

I was overruled.

I have exercised no personal bias in these awards and didn't judge any categories I was nominated in.

Oh sure.

Why do you hate me, RA?

I was overruled.

If this is true, I humbly retract my calling you a twit and redirect it toward your overrulers, who are twits.

Still, you should have overruled the overruling on the count that it was a dumb overrule to make.

Just sayin'...

Overruliness.
